Thought for your trip:

Oh, to be in England
Now that April's there,
And whoever wakes in England
Sees, some morning, unaware,
That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf
Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf,
While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough
In England - now!

That is if it isn't snowing!!!!! !

Default Roll Call for April 23rd TA on the Spirit

We are booked and feel the price was right. We did our own air and Silversea gave us a $500 credit which we thought was very fair.

Isn't anyone else going with us? Great itinerary - a little of this and a little of that ... New York, Boston, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, all those great sea days ... then Ireland, Wales ...ending in Southampton.

Default Roll Call for April 23rd TA NY - Southampton on the new Silver Spirit

Has anyone else booked this one yet? It is not all that far off and looks like a great itinerary.

Has anyone else ever done a similar TA trip that can tell about how it was?

Remember, about .005% of SS clients post on here. This itinerary has too few sea days and too few hours to a day.

We did a similar crossing in the opposite direction a few years ago - except we docked in Boston. Enjoyed it greatly. St. Johns Newfoundland was a surprise; a repeat visit to Halifax, which is a nice town and has an excellent maritime museum with exhibits on the Titanic and the Halifax harbor disaster. There seem to be quite a few people who get really picky about the EB/WB question and the gained or lost hours en route. We've crossed both ways and don't find it that much of 'a deal.' But sure love sea days!

(B/t/w, are you in the city? I spent my first 30 years growing up near Lincoln Park/Old Town, and the last 20 (before moving north) living on the N'west side.)

Ah yes, spouse and I worked in the old Sun-Times building on the river, before Mr. T took over the real estate. A few ghosts prowling that turf now, I bet.
