"We'll be in Belize City week of Jan 19 on Holland American cruise. We are seniors and are considering either snorkeling or cave tubing for our day in port but are concerned about the water temperatures.
I understand that January temperatures in Belize range from 70-80 degrees F. What about the water temperatures in the Cayes or the cave rivers? Comfortable or "chilly"? As options, any comments on airboat, city, cave or Mayan tours? Thanks " |

This is just my opinion, but the cave tours are over rated. We did them 2 years ago and while it was a good break from beach days, I would not do it again. There is a considerable amount of hiking to get to the caves while carrying your raft. As far as water temperature, I have no idea. Hope someone can help you.

We were in Belize last January and went cave tubing. Great Trip. Our guide described the water as "refreshing", I would say it was chilly. But the outside air temperature was warm, so it wasn't bad. Have fun. Hope this helps.
