We booked one of these rooms on the Legend. From the information I've gathered, the door can only open about 6 inches or so because of the placement of furniture in the room. Then there's the bar and even if you were to "fall out" of the room, you still have room outside because there's space between the cabin and the lifeboats. My boyfriend has an irrational fear of falling off a balcony, but I wanted fresh air. I'm hoping that this cabin will be a perfect compromise!

The one door will open all the way if you move the corner of the bed maybe a foot or so. Then move the bed back against the door to keep it open. It only takes a few seconds and little effort. You will not fall out of the room there is chest high railing there and a catwalk there as well. Certain rooms have a decent view between the lifeboats (which are about 20 feet from the door).

Which cabin did you book?

Default 4141 legend

We had cabin 4141 on the Legend. It was between two lifeboats and had a nice partial view of the ocean. The beds keep you from being able to open the french doors the whole way. We also had cabin 4143 which had a lifeboat completly infront of it.
You can't fall out there is a bar.

A big plus is that these cabins are the size of a balcony cabin and have the sofa area too.

I just got off the Miracle last week and was in cabin 4197; had a king bed and a sofa; same size as the other inside cabins=185 sq. feet; not much of a view, but good for the price, plus you get the light and fresh air......

Thankyou for that. I was a bit worried I had made the wrong selection and the decks plans were not correct.

I was looking at booking one of the 4J rooms on the Conquest either deck 10 or 9 but am very worried about being so far at the front of the ship along with being higher up. I don't usually get sea sick but it still makes me nervous. Does anyone have experience in these cabins? How is the ride? TIA!

We're in 4190. I know we're not in between a lifeboat, but I'm ok with that. I just wanted a little natural sunlight & fresh air. For the price, you certainly can't beat it!

We're in 4190 too! When are you going? So, it's not between a lifeboat?

Default Cabin 4114 on the Pride is a 4K

My sister was booked in a guaranteed 4C and then was assigned a 4K room 4114 - right between two lifeboats. She was very happy with it, especially when it got rough out. Being lower on the ship was much more stable than the 2 category 8C's we had.

I believe that her french door opened all the way when the beds were made into one bed. There is a standard height balcony railing right outside the french door so you really cannot do much other than look out.
(Your teenagers will not fall out unless they really, really, really make an effort.)

One thing to keep in mind, look out the window to see if there is anyone working on the catwalk/access areas outside before you decide to do any kind of "I am on vacation" happy dance in your underware.... They were doing some kind of painting activities on our sailing ....

The fresh air was one thing that my sister appreciated the most about having that room.

A very good choice for the price.
