I don't have experience with Victor Bodden but definitely DO NOT TAKE RONY'S TOUR! We booked him and when we got there they had different taxi drivers. We got one that didn't speak English (luckily we speak Spanish), did not know anything about the island. We had to tell him where we had wanted to go. It was a complete waste of time and money. We could have taken a taxi cab and had gone to the two places he tood us for less than a third of what we paid Rony. It was a very disappointing day.

We went with Rony and had an enjoyable day with Felix, our driver. He was very knowledgeable. Rony had mapped out a plan for us, but Felix was flexible, especially when it started to rain!

Rony had good communication with us as well.

We booked with Rony, also, and our guide was pretty good about taking us where we wanted to go but my biggest complaint and reason why I wouldn't book with them again was that he put a lot of pressure on us at the end of the day about how much tip we were going to give him. That was a huge turn-off to me. Victor Bodden sounds like a much better option from what I have read.

DW and I were on the Legend in December and we went with Rony's and had a great time. Our driver was Mike, Rony's cousin. He not only showed us the island and took us to the stops we wanted (grocery store for coffee, the monkey stop and Half Moon Bay), but on the way back to Mahogony Bay he showed us Coxen Hole, his house, Rony's house, his brother's restaurant. We had a great time and weren't pressured in any way.

Rony even e-mailed us after our cruise to ask about our tour. We plan on going back to Roatan in 2011 and will use Rony's again.

By the way rlkubi, where in St. Louis? I grew up in Kirkwood.

After reading dozens of reviews of both companies, sounds like it comes down to what driver you have!

we have booked with rony for March. he has been very quick with emails. price is reasonable for a full day private tour. even if there are some problems, we'll still be enjoying a beautiful country, and it won't spoil our vacation! and after all, we're from chicago- rony's guides cannot be any worse than the cab drivers here!!

We booked with VB for a March cruise. He has been very responsive and quick to answer any questions. We may add offshore fishing for some of us, while some others go horseback riding. SR5242, we are on the same cruise, so we'll be able to compare notes afterwards.

We are also in the process of deciding which tour company for our day in Roatan. First we thought maybe taking a ship's tour (which we usually never do) but decided against it. So now we will just wait and see which company emails us back and is available for the day we are in port.

From some of the replies it seems to depend on which driver you get. Was wondering......

You can certainly request a driver from Bodden's. The most popular appear to be Tex, Hanno and Ali. We have Ali booked for our September NCL Epic cruise.
