Does anyone know if they would offer anything in advance for an upcoming first-time cruiser that has a high rating at another well known land based-casino? I am a Diamond card with Harrah's. Just curious.

Thank you for contacting the Ocean Players Club!

You are eligible for bon voyage package at the value of $50! We will place your details onto our guest list. Have a wonderful voyage!
We just received exact same response (thanks to this board for tip). Only they said they credited $25.00 to our cruise coming up in a week. Not sure if it's for the casino or just in general, but who cares, I'm grateful for any freebee!

If you are a diamond level with Harrah's, you should book NCL through their Casinos at Sea (CAS) department. If you do, you will get a substantial discount on the booking PLUS you will receive in your stateroom upon boarding a Player's Card attached to which is a free drink certificate allowing you complimentary drinks in the casino while you are playing. In addition to that (and it's a very nice perk indeed!), you will ALSO receive lovely little treats sent to your cabin during the cruise (i.e. chocolate covered strawberries, imported cheese platter, hand made chocolates, etc.). Last but not least, based on your play, you should receive money off of your cruise folio at the end of the cruise.

In fact, I don't even like mainstream cruising but I cruise NCL primarily BECAUSE OF their wonderful casino perks to players at my level (and as a diamond I'm sure your level as well). And, of course, they really do have some of the friendliest staff at sea!

I received a coupon in the mail today from Ocean's player club for $75.00 in casino cash. Sure was a nice surprise. I'll use it on my Legend cruise in November. Gotta love Carnival.

Yesterday's mail brought me a $100.00 casino cash coupon from Ocean Player's Club.
This too was a surprise for me, as I haven't cruised since 2007.

Yes, gotta love Carnival.

My husband received a letter from Carnival with a Casino certificate attached in yesterday's mail. It was encouraging him to book a cruise before September 30. We are already booked on Conquest for 10/31/10. I read everything on the certificate and could not find out if it applied to new bookings only. Does anyone know if he can present the certificate when we board and get the credit applied to his account with the casino? It has his Player # and name on it. TIA

Call the Ocean Player's Club (1-866-299-5859) and explain to them about your upcoming cruise. I got the certificate 3 weeks before my cruise and they are honoring the casinocash.

My cruise was already booked, so I too was wondering if they would honor it. I called and they told me "yes" it would be honored. It was booked before the cutoff date, and I am sailing before the deadline date. You will be good to go. I also read every word in the letter/certificate and there is nothing there that says anything about "new bookings only". Have a great cruise.

Hey everyone thanks to this board I contacted them the other day and explained I play big and never got really anything except free drinks and they responded they would like to extend a bon voyage package (not premium) and $100 cage comp. they also said to contact them every time we cruise so they can make it happen

Good luck all Mike

I contacted OPC before my last cruise on HAL. They said I would receive a gift and $50 cage cash. Prior to that I joined the OPC through Carnival and have received gifts, cash and free drinks. I forgot to bring the email with me so I never inquired about the comp cash. Eventually the casino host found me by looking at my points while I was playing the slots. He gave me drinks, shirts, bags and wine and offered dinner at the steak house AND an actual card for the OPC. He said next time I cruise Princess, HAL or Carnival to call them ahead and let them know I would be sailing.

My next cruise is on Princess which will be my first Princess cruise. Has anyone else received benefits between Carnival, Princess and HAL? It look like the OPC card is good for all of those lines.

Hello all,

I am a predominately blackjack and craps player, especially on cruise ships so I am wondering how or IF i can join the players club and how it works. My wife plays slots but usually penny or nickel slots and never enough to get 1,000 points.

ANy suggestions on how to be recognized by the hosts on board and get these phenomenal opportunities?

Thanks a million

Bet big. We were told on our last cruise that you need to be $25 per hand on blackjack. DH has a good night on the craps table on the first night and we drank free in the casino the rest of the cruise. He probably had $120 on the table for most the the night.

Thanks for the Tip. I sent my info yesterday and got:

We would like to extend a Bon Voyage gift for your upcoming sailing on the Legend.

But no indication of value But I guess ANYTHING would be nice. And whatever they give me is somthing I wouldn't have if I didn't read this thread! Just sent my parents info today!

Again thanks!

Just got back from the Valor and I have to say my bon voyage package and my $100 was not there .Took a copy of my email from player services to the casino host and still nothing.Explained to him I play pretty big and he didnt even care.Bought us a couple of rounds of drinks throughout the cruise but that was it.Our first day at sea I lost a grand.I thought maybe he would look at my play and maybe try to make something happen .Nope.I love Carnival but maybe its time to switch, evertime we go I lose double what the cruise costs and get nothing in return.Dont get me wrong I do it for fun and can afford to lose but give alittle something back to good players

Thanks for all the info....I just went to the Ocean Players Club Site AND the KEY is to Call the Phone Number and Talk to a Live Person(1-888-672-2582)....They go by your Last Play on either Carnival or Princess.....Were going on Another Cruise this coming Monday 11/15 on Carnival Paradise and the guy said we will get $200.00 CASH for My Wife, I get $75.00 CASH (Payable in the Casino) Plus there will be a "Deluxe Bon Voyage" Package waiting for us with Chocolate Covered Strawberrys, 1 Bottle of Champayne, 4 FREE Drink Coupons and a Free Picture Frame....WE ARE VERY HAPPY ........

We Play alot of Tables (3 CARD POKER, CRAPS, BJ AND SOME SLOTS) and have been Rated in the past but only got some Free
Drinks and the Princess and Carnival Players Bag at the end of the cruise with T-Shirt, Hat,Etc.

The Guy I spoke with said once again that the Key was to Phone in everytime before you cruise to see what you Qualify for.....Weve Lost out on alot of Freebies and Cash by not doing this.

BUT ARE STARTING THIS UPCOMIMNG CRUISE WITH A BANG!!

Many thanks to the OP for posting. I just got my response from the Player's Club as well...I've never asked to be rated, but DH and I spend a good deal of time in the casinos and I've spent the value of my cruise on several occasions, usually on the 3 card tables.

My Preimum Bon Voyage package will be waiting for me on my Christmas cruise on the Legend!

It never ever hurts to ask!
