Mexico Excursion / Safety / Credit

Very much looking forward to our cruise despite the recent incident in Mexico.

That said, what happens if something occurs ( crime / travel warning etc ) and our port is changed OR our excursion cancelled? ( Carnival excursions booked in PV and cabo )

Will we be notified and refunded? OBC?

You will be refunded the excursion cost for the Carnival shore excursion.
Maybe you will get some OBC, maybe not for missing the port.

I meant - would the refund be applied to whatever card I used to pay for the excursion, OR applied as an OBC..

Im not concerned about any credit for missing a port..

If you paid for the excursion before sailing, then the money will be credited to your credit card. If you paid for the excursion on the ship, there will be a credit on you S&S account for the amount of the excursion.

When we had port changes due to a hurricane, we were notified at the beginning of the cruise with a letter in the cabin.

Cabo is in the safest state in Mexico. Spent five days there and felt every safe.

The excursion is paid ( sail in September ) that helps a lot - Thank you !

Due to Hurricane Rena, we were re-routed away from Panama on our Freedom cruise last October. We had booked an excursion through Carnival for Panama canal and had paid ahead of time on our credit card. Obviously the excursion did not take place. We were refunded the $ as OBC. I believe, any unused OBC is refunded in the form of a check the morning you disembark. Turns out I bought some artwork and spent all the OBC.
