Finally got a small Maytag front loader and Princess Di loves it. Uses so much less water.

It was in the 70's in Boston yesterday. Margo is mad at me because I promised I'd take her to the Paddy Day parade yesterday and I reneged!
I made corned beef and cabbage but it was so hot we decided to wait until today to cook it. Grilled hamburgs outside instead!

I love my Maytag w/d...too.... remember to use the HE detergent.

Dee: it's been very cold here again - yesterday was so windy and when we went out with friends, we were all wearing heavy coats and still shivering.

Ah Gee, I remember the first time I went on this groups "ramblings" and everyone was talking about toasters and now I decide to look into you guys and your talking about Maytag washers ! Boy have I missed talking with you guys.............any outsiders would be baffled

We really enjoyed having Steve and Linda visiting us. I'm sure it's the first of many. I appreciate that he didn't tell you what I cooked....When they arrived on Friday it was to a Crock Pot Corned beef ...then we went to the Outer Banks and for lunch I had a Ruben...then that nite we had corned beef and cabbage at the church dinner ( by the way...the way Linda and Steve were "meeting everyone" you would have thought they lived here and Steve even helped Richard with the clean up after the dinner) So the morning they left I actually made corned beef hash. I'm sure they don't think I can cook anything else LOL

They are perfect house guests and Richard and Steve even let the Lindas' beat the pants off them in Sequence

Since my upcoming cruises have dull posts I'll be looking into you guys now. Our Panama Canal Oct 7th on the Milly has 16 people signed up for the CC party !!! but the B2B Hawaii does have 38 signed up so I know there will be a party then.

The Princess Dec 2 TA does have some nice postings and a spred sheet for activities...not as good as Howard and Steves' !!

Now, all we need to do is win the lottery or start selling Richards energy by the minutes so we can pay for these upcoming wishes....deposits are easy....especially if you have Future Credits

Today is a sad day in our house. We had to put our beloved friend Freckles down this morning. For the past several months he was definitely showing his age but he still kept going and surprising us. However in the past couple of weeks, he was really getting lethargic and starting to not eat as much as he use to. On Thursday, Sharon brought him to the Vet and we found out that it was suspected that he was loaded with Lymphoma. The Vet indicated that she did not know how long, but not long. They took some blood work and we were to go back today to get the results. We found out that there were possibly other issues as well with his liver and we saw other issues with other parts of his body. The Vet told us that if we could hold out for a natural end, it would have been no more than two weeks at the most. She indicated to us today that the node in his rear leg area had almost doubled in size since Thursday. There were no options available.


We got Freckles from the rescue shelter when he was only 10 weeks old and he would have been 14 years old next month. We were told that a dog of his size only lasts about 7-10 years so for us to get almost 14 years with him was truly a blessing. Over the years we found that he was more human than dog as he would react to things around him in a way that people would. They say that you get back 10 times what you give to a dog, but in Freckles case, we got so much back that we could not quantify it.


He will be deeply missed by everyone that met him even once.

Howard, as I stated on FB, I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so difficult to have to put them to sleep, but it's more difficult to watch them suffer, and they usually suffer silently. My heart goes out to you and Sharon.

Other than the above, I hope all is well. Spring is blooming everywhere here - way too early but I'm loving the warm weather. Even got to play golf a few times last week. Say hi to Sharon. I'll try to stay more in-tuned now. We're booked on NCL to Bermuda Sept 16th so looking forward to that.

Glad you found us - thought everyone knew we moved to a new neighborhood --- still not spring here = showered a little bit tonight ..well rained enough so i had to have an umbrella...if it only showers, I do without. carol

Howard and Sharon....Our thoughts are with you both. The last of our pets died about 6 months ago and we still miss all of them. Your dog will still be giving you lots of laughs with The memories.

I don't know if Richard told you but for years when we do The Not So Newlywed Game and he is asked the question "What is the first thing you do in the morning ?" he always said "pat the pussy" the audience goes wild...one host actually sat on the floors in tears laughing so hard....of course I always say " He pats our cat" I am a lady

Oh a shout out to everyone. Richard and I are booked on the Celebrity Milly Panama Canal from Miami to San Diego on Oct 7th. We used our future cruise credits. We were also given 2 friends and family certs. I'm pretty sure one of our Elizabeth City friends will be using one but we still have another if anyone out there is interested. It entitles you to booking with just a $200 deposit and you get $300 OBC because of the length. We also booked the San Diego to Hawaii leg because the military rate was sooooo cheap., unfortuately no friends and family deal for that...or we would be dragging Steve and Linda with us. Howard, I saw your post on FB and commented. Again, sorry for you and Sharon. Freckles is in a better place now and not suffering so that should give you some peace.

Marge, I know, the weather has been awsome, but I'm afraid it's over now for awhile. Glad we enjoyed it when we could!!! I mean 75-80 degree weather is unheard of for our area! But it was nice!!!

Thanks, How sweet of you. It's Steve and Linda who will be on a ship in April...we'll have to wait until Oct.

Now that Linda has told you about her menu, I can say that I now have a Gaelic accent since our visit! LOL

Wow do I miss this thread! We sail on the Crown Princess in 17 days and the posting are only on page 18 - Yes, only page 18, not 450 like the Wild Turkeys. Need Chatty Patty et al to feel like something is going to happen!

Decided not to do the Challenge this cruise, not due to the loss of my trademark, but due to lack of energy on the thread! Have etched a pair of wedding glasses for a couple from Phila. getting married on board on the 15th. Everyone was invited, it's formal night and the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. We do plan on having a toast late in the evening in memory of those lost that night.

Oh, not to forget all you ladies that watch DWTS. I've been watching and must say it'll be a hard season as everone is looking good!

Patty, Today and tomorrow Royal has a WOW sale. Reduced deposits and OBCs. Find something and make it happen. Life is too short not to have another cruise planned.

Howard and Sharon, we're so sorry for your loss. We went through the same thing 3 1/2 years ago with our beloved Shadow. I don't think I could ever put myself in that position again. Hence, we did not get another dog.
Cherish the wonder memories you have of the joy Freckles brought to you and to all who knew him.
