Ya. That flights a killer. It was 9 hrs for us from Chicago. We booked a night flight back thinking we'd sleep, that didn't happen!
I don't know how hawaii airline prices are or if they fly out from an airport near you. But we used them when we went from Oahu to Hawaii and they were great! Wish we could have used them for the flight out. We used Air Tran and they ONLY provided us pretzels n one drink the whole flight!

I would never fly American. I have a phobia since 9/11 with AA. I may just go with Jet Blue out of Boston and then try to find a cheaper flight (yeah right, is there such a thing?) with another carrier out of California.
Lots of research to do, but it will have to wait until I get back from Alaska.

Sheila...if you have never been to San Diego...it may be worth an extra day there if you have time.... great place to visit. Good food and lots to see.

Were getting the storms that went through Oklahoma yesterday tonight. Hopefully they die down more before getting here!

Of course I am in the opposite direction from the storms headed your way... but it is Gorgeous here today... about 75 degrees and sunny.

It was chilly and windy here yesterday....probably a bit of the aftermath of the storms that went through Colorado, Oklahoma etc.

Bill, that's exactly what I was thinking. I haven't been to San Diego and thought maybe we could fly there, spend a day and then fly out the next day. We've been to San Francisco & LA.
I'm starting to get really excited for Alaska. We are three months away. That's just crazy.
We had gorgeous weather here too. It's going to be in the 80's tomorrow and Tuesday. They are even discouraging runners from running the Boston Marathon tomorrow. They only want qualified runners. The casual runners they want them to defer to next year. It could be 85 for them tomorrow. Not good.

Sounds like a good plan Sheila. BTW your cruise to Alaska banner at the bottom of your posting says you are sailing on July 13 instead of the 15th. Just an FYI.

Wow....been pretty quiet here. Guess everyone is all set for the big vacation, and like me looking at next year already. Germany here we come in 2013.

In the meantime...... 87 days and counting.... (less than 3 months ~ HOORAY !!! )

You're right, it has been quiet. I went to my dentist yesterday and he took an Alaskan cruise. He described the inside passage as "everywhere you look is a picture postcard." We live on the ocean and there are seagulls all around the boats. He said in Alaska it's eagles. He said I'm going to be absolutely amazed. I asked him about packing and he said jeans. flannel shirts, gloves, hat, no shorts at all. I can't believe how soon it will be here. Hooray is right! Bill, are the girls getting excited?

Been soooo busy with work haven't had much time to poke around on here. just made final payment today...that's usually my sign that the cruise is in sight.

Shelia, that's crazy, I was talking to my ortho today and she also went on a cruise to alaska! It also said it was breathtaking beauty. I'm so excited!!

Matt, we also just made the final payment. Time is sure flying! I can't believe we are already towards the end of April, scary:/.

I think everyone is right...it is a picture postcard kind of trip. And the packing suggestions he gave seem to be right in line with what I had intended to pack. I do intend to pack some long sleeve pullover shirts also. I am very hot natured and while I will pack a flannel shirt or 2, I tend to like the lighter style myself with a jacket.

I texted the girls the other day when we hit 90 days and they both went WOW !!!! So Excited.!!!!

So yep we are all on the 'countdown' for sure !!!!

Hey Matt...... do you have 'Connections' with River Cruises??? I'm planning a river cruise through Germany next August or September 2013 and of course am looking at all my options.

Matt, that's usually a good sign (making the final payment) you know you're almost there.
What has your experience been meeting people from roll calls? Were they friendly? Did you stay in touch with them after the cruise? Just wondering.

I noticed on Matt's posting's ( NCL Pearl Roll Call 7 15 2012 ) that you had not signed up yet. Hey guys...well as im sure you can tell from lack of postings I've been very busy. we just got back from my wifes family reunion in saratoga NY and im heading out to Colorado tomorrow morning. ill try to check in when i can but i know im going to be super busy!

My wife and i are looking even more forward to the cruise now because it will be the next time we get to spend a full week together.

Im going to contact NCL about 6-8 weeks out regarding our meet and greet. hopefully we will have a few more people join us by then
