Thanks for the information about Gail. I'm so sorry to hear that she has been ill, but glad to hear that she is beginning to improve. If anyone speaks to her, please tell her that we hope that she is on the mend and will be back home and feeling better soon!

Please give Sandra our best. Tell her that Rick and I have all of our fingers, toes and eyes crossed for her; how could she have anything but a good outcome!! We will be thinking of her, and will be glad to get updates on how she is doing.

Deb and Chuck you have already been in our prayers, and will continue to be; I have just added Sandra and Gail, so you will be among friends.

Miss seeing you all, and of course, The Enchantment. I can't believe it has only been such a short time since we returned. It seems like forever!!!

I just read the blog about Enchantment. I sure hope that the post is a mix-up in ships. It sounds more like a situation for Grandeur, the ship that was on the Baltimore run before Enchantment. I know she went down to Columbia. Perhaps Adam got them crossed in his mind. Please don't take Enchantment away from us unless you are going to replace her with something better!!!!!!!!!!!

Sandra...sending you all my best wishes for tomorrow. Hope all goes well, uneventfully and the easy way. Then we'll pray for a speedy and full recovery.

That just might be the most person to pray for. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I will post the news as so as possible.

I just read the blog and maybe the explanation is "Adam Goldstein, discussing Royal Caribbean's 2010 initiatives......". I think Grandeur left & Enchantment came to Baltimore in 2010.

wanted to let eveyone know I heard from Karin (Gail's daughter) yesterday.
Gail doing better but still in hospital, her blood count low may have to have blood transfusion,
I am going to try to call Gail today ...

Just wanted to let everyone know...
I just got off the phone with Gail
She had a blood transfusion & waiting to see what the results are...
She also said this was her first time in a hospital .. she wants to go home, but dr wants to keep her at least a few more days until all tests results are back...
Told her that all of us are sending well wishes and prayers for a quick recovery so she could be home with her family soon...

Gail is still worn out and itching to get out of the hospital. Hope she gets her release papers soon.

Also keeping Deb in mind as she tries to deal with all that is on her overflowing plate.

Tommy we've been out of town for a couple of days. I was thinking that Sandra's surgery was tomorrow-don't know how I got that mixed up-and was going to send you an e-mail today when I got back. Then I read your post just now.

I guess it's all over by now. Sure hope that things went well. Please let us know if we can do anything to help.

Talked w/Gail last night...still very weak. She is in Shady Grove Hospital. I told Ken that I don't plan to call anymore because she needs to rest. I know she's itching to get home but she hasn't the strength quite yet.

Chuck and I send our love and thanks out to everyone! Life keeps throwing us more balls to juggle and somehow we keep them all in the air. Chuck said maybe we should just say *&%$ it, get on the next ship and be done with it.

Let me just say, I would never use Schimunek again and certain people are just cruel to a grieving family.


I was hoping to hear how Sandra is doing Tommy, please know that Sandra and you are in our prayers.

I spoke with Gail yesterday, she started out sounded fine but she tired quickly so lots of good thoughts and prayers are going her way too.

Got an e-mail from Tommy and Sandra's surgery went well. They were able to remove the thyroid with the less invasive surgery. He said she will probably be able to come home tomorrow if all goes well.

It's great to have some good news for a change!

Gail, glad you're improving and will pray that they continue.

Deb, we are all keeping you, Chuck and your family in our prayers that your pain will ease. Grieving families should not be treated badly from anyone, much less a funeral home. So sorry you had to endure that along with everything else. Karma is a ............

Prayers do work and Sandra's surgery is an example. Her thyroid was removed by the less invasive means. Yeah. There was some problems inserting the breathing tube prior due to the way her trachea had been shoved to an unnatural position but after that, everything else turned in her favor. Only the thyroid surgeon was needed, the trachea bounced back to it's normal location and to it's normal shape. She did have a respiratory treatment for swollen vocal cords but since then, smooth sailing. She will probably come home Friday and hopefully a short recovery ahead.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It is really good to have so many friends that care.
