A First for Me!

i am still reporting. rccl has posted cruises out of cape liberty for the eos though oct. 2013.

the caribbean cruises posted are though aug. 2013 and sept. and oct. 2013 are 7 night cruises to bermuda.

besides going to ft. laud. starting sept. 9 2012 b/b on tha allure we are booked on the eos out of bayonne on dec.3, 2012 and april 18, 2013. both are very low especiality the dec. 3rd cruise which is 999.00 for a D-2 category.

we are waiting for the nov. or dec. 2013 cruises to be posted so we can book another one.

seems like just a handfull are still posting on this site.

When I grow up, I want to be just like you guys! Why don't you just sell your house and live from cruise ship to cruise ship? It might be cheaper for you!

Since you like cruising so much, why don't you join us on the Liberty of the Seas on October 6 out of Barcelona?

I don't know much about Falmouth, but I know a lot about a foul-mouth! He lives in Connecticut and is hosting a July EGE reunion party at his house!

That's the new port that RCCL built to accommodate the Oasis and Allure.
It's about 1 hour away from Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. If you've never been to Jamaica you should definitely do Dunn's River Falls. It's very beautiful and you can walk up the falls with a guide. If you're not that brave, there are paths along the falls so you can still enjoy its beauty.

Thanks Donna - we are really debating the trip to Dunn's River Falls or just sticking to the ship. I guess it's about an hour to get to the falls, but a bus ride is a nice way to see the scenery and catch up on some sleep. There's an RCCL excursion where you go to a beach for lunch, take a river cruise and go to the falls. There's some private tours as well - I'll keep investigating. I just didn't know if the falls were worth the trip.

No, never even thought of it in that way! It's a long story, but the short version is that we needed a name for our group several years ago, most of us were from the east coast area, and we were going on the Explorer of the Seas, so we voted and named ourselves the East Coast Explorers. Then next year, some of us were from the same group, and since the cruise was over Halloween on the Explorer, we voted and named ourselves the East Ghost Explorers. This past year, many of us took the same cruise, over Halloween again on the Explorer, so we called ourselves the East Ghost Explorers II, or EGEII for short.

The best cruising group EVER!! I really miss them all, and hope that we travel together again someday.

I was curious because I'm planning to join a group going on a paranormal cruise in November 2012, and I noticed you had a lot of RCCL cruisers in your group. (We're going on Navigator of the Seas out of New Orleans.) I combined the RCCL connection with the "ghost" part and got curious.

Your East Ghost Explorers sure seem active, and if there's anyone who may be headed out on the cruise we're on (departs Nov. 24) feel free to let us know and maybe we grab an umbrella drink on the Lido deck.

Our group, Mysterious Destinations (I think you can find them on Google... It's their 7-day Western Caribbean Expedition) will be investigating a haunted mansion in Jamaica and mysterious handprints at a Maya ruin in Cozumel (we'll also be going to a few haunted places in Cozumel). The Mysterious Destinations people provide the paranormal detection equipment and training on how to use it, so we're really looking forward to it. (As well as the cruise... of course!)

We're going to be doing a presentation on board the ship with whatever we find, so we hope anyone on board from your group can join our audience. (Information for the presentation should be in the ship's newsletter.)

Anyway... Sorry to chatter for so long... (We're pretty excited about the cruise.) Nice to "meet" you and I'll keep an eye on your group thread.

While we are not exactly the paranormal types, we certainly aren't the normal types either! As a matter of fact, you won't find a pair o' normals in the whole bunch!

All that being said, we are all about new activities, new experiences, and new members, and we would welcome you (they call me the mayor, and I guess you can see why!). But a word of warning to you in that I was censured on these boards because I was posting on boards that I was not actively a cruise member, and was kicked off for a few days, so you might get a gentle warning from them. The second warning is not as gentle!

thanks for the invite to the liberty, but we will just be getting back for our allure b/b on sept. 25th and it will be a little too soon. i am sure you will enjoy the wedding and the cruise. we have flown around the world for cruises and have decided not to fly anymore. to much hassle. we only drive to bayonne and florida.

just completed no. 44 cruise and have 4 more booked as of today.

rccl now has opened cruises for booking out of bayonne though april 2014.
we are looking to book nov. 23 or dec. 2, 2013. also, march 2, 2014. rates are low now and we will book after we return from allure armed with several more next cruise certs. it really gives us a lot of additional discounts and shipboard credits.

Hi Ernie..

Am just now checking this board today...we had a great time with the "guys"..Hill at the Schooner Bar and Manny at the Aquarium Bar. Alot of familiar faces onboard (crew). Juan was working in the Cafe Promenade, makeing coffee and ice cream sundaes...First day out to sea was very rough...the worst we have sailed in so far. By the time we got to Bermuda everything cleared and and the rest of the time was great weather and smooth seas. St. Marteen had a "Carnival" going on in town so all the shops were closed...so we just shopped by the dock..it was ok, since we have been to St. Marteen several times before...it just prevented me from buying any jewlery!. San Juan was a short stop 7-1...and we managed to leave 4 people behind...must be they got held up at Senor Frogs!! Not alot of kids onboard, it was a older crowd onboard. Dining was good...had a table next to the captains table...was able to talk waiter into giving me one of the captains dinner desserts...So now we are looking forward to our next cruise Nov 4th. Booked a May 2013 cruise while we were onboard...our fall 2013 trip will be to Hawaii (not a cruise).
