Default Deck 8A cabin 6438

Can someone explain this to me please . After booking our cruise my paperwork says we have are on Deck 8A but our cabin number is 6438 ? What does that mean? Shouldn't our cabin start with an 8 instead of a 6?

Not necessarily. Every cruise line numbers their decks and cabins in a different way.

If this refers to your Dec Carnival cruise, you will probably find more specific info on the Carnival board, here:

"8A" is the catagory not the deck level.
