Dzibilchaltun Museum Reopens

I can confirm (went there this morning to check out the rumour) that the excellent museum at the Mayan site of Dzibilchaltun has re-opened after a way-too-long restoration and maintenance program.

It has been closed the last few times I've been there so I'm glad it has finally reopened.

But guess what! It, like all musuems in Mexico, is closed on Mondays! This makes it officially unavailable for cruisers coming in on Mondays (which is when most of them do).

We are there on a Thursday on my cruise later this month but unfortunately, we have made other plans and won't be going to Dzib. Oh well, another reason to return soon.

well pffft. I was thinking about taking about 30 cruisers there. Not that it would ruin the trip. But having the option of getting something there and seeing the artifacts would have been a bonus

I know - it's a federal policy and it's stupid IMHO. A little flexibility goes a long way but then federal governments in all countries move slower than molasses on a chill winter Nebraska morning.
