Actually, we're not sure if it's the wipes or the alcohol but we do both!
This is what I do! I get strange looks, but who cares? I wipe down everything around my seat and use hand wipes like crazy. I never touch restroom door handles with bare hands (use a paper towel) , and wash my hands frequently. I never have gotten sick on vacation since I started doing this!

Take Lysol wipes with you and wipe the fold out table. Not just the top but under. Wipe the handles of the airline seat and the seatbelt clasp. Sanitize hands after you touch the handle of the restroom door. You would be surprised how many people do not wash their hands after that trip! Whatever we touch and put to our faces lends us to unwanted bacteria.....just be mindful!

Anyone know if this is true but

I once read that the water used in the airplane sinks is unpure. If it is unsafe to drink (which I believe it is), how good can it be to use for washing to try to eliminate germs from our hands?

I use my wipes rather than what might be unpure water in the lavatory.

I don't care how hot it get but I turn off the a/c blowing down on me. ( besides washing hands frequently and never putting hands in mouth) I haven't gotten a cold since I do that when we fly to vacations.

WHile most of the time i fly economy, the few times I flew biz or first, the air seems so much fresher as you are not sharing it with hundreds of people. Your body is also not traumatized by the tiny seats and cramped quarters. But, most of us usually prefer to pay for an economy seat.

Stay hydrated during the flight and get out of your seat and walk around.

Default Traveling on oxygen

This will be my second cruise, and I'm really excited. Unfortunately, I was told last year, that I will have to go on oxygen, I have Pulmonary Hypertension. My doctor says I should not have any problems, that I should be fine. I'm going with other family members, and I don"t want to depend on them too much. I really do well on my own, but there are times I need help. I'm 59 and this may be my last cruise, due to my health.Just wondering if anyone has ever traveled carrying oxygen? We leave on Carnival Fantasy on my birthday, June 13th.

Default Don't touch your eyes

How to avoid not getting sick in general, not only on airplanes? Don't touch or rub your eyes with your hands. Even if you've washed and washed your hands. I read somewhere that your eyes are the #1 way that viruses enter your body. Since I found that out 2 years ago, and stopped rubbing my eyes with my hands, I haven't gotten a cold - not one. I'm not a doctor and can't verify the medical info, i just know i haven't gotten sick since i stopped it.

Keep your hands away from your face. Last week I was cruising with my daughter and she kept putting her fingers on her lips (like picking her lips). I kept yelling at her to stop that because of Noro. Than I would go spaying everything with lysol.

I fly two or three weeks each month. If there were any truth in the fallacy that flying makes you sick, I'd be dead by now.

Drink lot's of water, wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands.

Try not to touch things like bathroom doors, hand rails, etc.

Also turn off the air vent above your seat--adds to the dehydration.
