Holiday Inn POM

I just wanted to give my opion on HI POM. I read a lot of negatives and was very leary of this hotel but we were happy with this hotel. I don't think I would stay here for a vacation but 1 night pre cruise was just fine.
It is in a great location and we loved watching the ships come into port and the Bayside was great. The only thing I did notice was a faint paint smell in the hotel but the are renovating so that should be expected. We had a great time and will stay here again!

It IS very popular with new cruisers/travelers because as you say, it is in a good location for a night's stay. Especially if you have a group that just wants some downtimeand distractions in walking distance. And the fact that your ship is in view, adds to newbies excitement.

There are nicer places to stay roomwise, but I too don't agree that it's "the dump" some here have reviewed it as. And it is slowly being refurbished from what we hear.

I have stayed there once,pretty average. The I.C just down the street is a 10 in my book,and its within a few $ of the H.I if booked on LastMinuteTravel.

That's fine, but we would never stay there again. Maimi is a vibrant, exciting city and there are other places to stay, pre-cruise.
