Barb - thanks for asking about the tours.
I have another question for organizers here.
I ( and I don't know how this happened but ) seem to be organizing some tours (I swear all I asked was if there was any one interested in sharing the cost and now they are joining me and some how or other I have become the leader - I don't do leading that well - remember I am a lurker not an organizer of tours - sorry had to get that off my chest).
When you go with RomeinLimo or Joe Banana and you become the leader (even though I didn't know I was going to be), do you have everyone pay up before the tour and then pay the driver as one person (one envelop), or do let everyone pay on their own and just pray that everyone shows up so you don't have to pay for any missing people? I don't mind sending emails but I don't want to be the one paying if someone else doesn't make the tour for whatever reason. The prices are usually for the car divided among the people showing up.
I would never miss a tour but I don't know if others sign up and never show up.
Do any one of you have any ideas about what I should do?
If you are 'responsible' you MUST arrange that EVERYONE pays you at the Meet and Greet - ask on the rollcall that they all put the CORRECT money in an envelope with their names and cabin numbers and the tour it relates to.I do it the same way as Yvonne.... just make sure you have all the cabin numbers and their last names, get them to send you an email with all the information. Last cruise I organised 6 tours and on the middle leg nearly everyone got upgraded and some forgot to inform me of their new cabin no. but because I had their first and last names it was easy to find out where they were moved to. I just rang up passenger services and they told me the new cabin no. or put me straight through.
This way you get it at the beginning - can check it there and then - and then pay the driver on the day with one envelope.
If you have their cabin numbers now while things are being organised - if they are tardy about meeting you at the M&G you can chase them up by phone to their cabin. Good luck It is not too strenuous I am doing 9 on my 2013 cruise
