You are arriving on June 13th right? We will have a tour at 3pm this day. The adults pay $20, the two 8 year olds pay $10 and the 3 year old goes for free. The tour starts in downtown Otrobanda, which is very close to the Piers. (5 minute walk) These are the directions from the Cruise terminal to us... As soon as you walk out of the Mega Pier, there is a path that leads you through the Renaissance Hotel and the Riffort Village (mall). And you will find us right outside of the Riffort village. So at the main entrance of the Fort. Please let me know if you want me to reserve these 7 seats for you. Have a nice day & I hope to hear from you soon! They got back to me too and I booked the same tour. I think it will be awesome!

We took a tour through Irie in April. Someone in our Roll Call group coordinated it all and had Irie come and pick us up right at the ship for a 3 hour tour for $20pp. We had 2 buses. She never mentioned having any problems with contacting them so this is very odd.

I would be interested in reading your review, under this thread or a new one. We will on the Breeze and our time there is 9-4 so would be interested to hear about the timing.

Well we just got back from this itinerary...today in fact and here is what we did. We only went to the beach ONE day...there is so much MORE to do then sit on the beach!

GT: Rented a jeep, toured the island ourselves..had lunch at margaritaville
Dominican Republic: Seavis tour to the beach/speed boat and it was awesome!
Curacao: Walked around town...there is so many shops...visited the floating market..had dinner on the riverfront (Iguana Cafe service sucked BIGTIME!)
Aruba: Bully tour and HE IS THE BOMB!!! Took us to like 12 different sites...around aruba...he is so knowledgable and such a nice person! He dropped us off at the Old fisherman for lunch and the food there was awesome too!
Can you tell me what you ate on the Seavis tour?

Finally heard back!!!! See below. We will be in Curacao from 2pm to 11pm on Nov 28.

"First of all, thanks a lot for your interest in our East Side tour!

I don't have the Cruise schedule for the upcoming season yet, but I can start reserving your seats for you. And when the day gets a little closer, I will let you know the time the tour starts. Will the ship arrive in the afternoon?

We will probably start at the Cruise terminal though. "

We'll be on this itinerary aboard the Carnival Freedom in 2 weeks.
I think we've finally figured out what we're going to do at each port (thanks in a big part to this CC thread)

Grand Turk- Early morning walk looking for conch shells, beach day, back on boat around noon for lunch and sail-away

La Romana- Seavis "Saona Special" with a group of fellow Cruise Critics

Curacao- We are going to get a private taxi and visit the salt marshes to see the flamingoes, go to Boka Shete Park to see Curacao's natural wonders, and finally end up at Little Knip Bay for about 30 minutes so I can do a cliff dive and watch the sunset. After that we'll head back to the ship and wait for our night time sail-away.

Aruba- Carnival North Coast Jeep Safari

Can't wait for this cruise!!!

Some kind of pork and a piece of chicken wing; rice, pineapple, some kind of pasta salad with tuna is all I can remember.

there is a bar with rum and coke being served, and self-serve water in a large jug.

As you go to the sandbar to see the starfish, they cut up more pineapple (yum) and serve rum cake and more rum drinks.

It's getting very close! This time next week we will be sailing.

I just tried to book with Seavis Tours for La Romana. They have 2 boats already full and need at least 12 people before they will send out a third boat. My party is 7 people, so we just need 5 more people to get a third boat. Looks like a great tour and there has been tons of positive feedback. If anyone is interested in this...I sent Seavis an email and within 5 minutes they had responded with information.

We just returned off the Valor 1/21/12 sailing and absolutely fell in love with LaRomana. It is stunningly beautiful and unspoiled. Our group of 15 did the Saona Special with Seavis tours and it was the best day of our cruise. Here's how it went and I'll try to attach some pics: The cost was $59a/$29c plus $15pp for RT taxi. Seavis arranged the taxis so you pay Alex @ Seavis when you get there and he pays the taxi. Upon arriving we exited the port and walked straight out to the small duty free/shopping building on the left. There was a lady from the taxi company standing there with a sign and she had a list with all of our names on it. Once everyone who booked the Seavis tour showed up, she escorted us to the taxis. They were fairly new 12 passenger vans. Clean and the ac worked fine. It was approx. a 25 min. ride from port to Bayahibe. Once there we paid Alex, got wrist bands, and were fitted with snorkel gear. We then met with Carlos (guide) and he explained the tour and showed us the route on the map. We then walked to the speedboat. It was partially covered and I believe there was 25 passengers and 5 crew onboard. We stopped at a few spots along the way to Saona and Carlos gave us a history of the area with several beautiful spots for picture taking. We ventured into the protected mangroves. They passed around a catalog to help us identify birds and fish in the area. We went to a bird sanctuary and viewed hundreds of frigate birds. They were beautiful...some with 4ft wing span and Carlos provided a lot of info about them. After that we continued on to Saona Island. It was so beautiful! White sand beach, tons of palm trees, and great snorkeling. There were beach chairs and floating mats free of charge. The tour included a lunch of steak, chicken, potatoes, fresh pineapple, rice and beans, bread, and some type of pasta salad. I did not try the pasta because it looked to be made with mayo and I didn't know how long it had been out and it was very hot so I skipped. The rest of the lunch was very good. Also included pop and rum or beer. There was no choice of type of rum or beer. There was also some vendors set up from the island selling souvenirs and clothing, art, etc. There was a lady offering massages on the beach for $20. One of the guys in our group tried it and said it was very nice. On the way back, we stopped at the natural pool which is knee deep water and hunted for starfish. It was so beautiful! At this time they provided more fresh pineapple, shots of rum, and some sort of yummy cake. After we returned to Bayahibe we were able to hold Boa Constrictors and tarantulas if you dare! Alex had the taxi vans waiting for us upon our return. It was an amazing day and I would highly recommend to all! Here are some pics:

For those of you that have been on this itinerary, can you tell me which port is the best to buy alcohol? Looking for a place that has cheap alcohol similar to prices in St. Thomas as a comparison (I.e. a bottle of grey goose was $15 - $20). Thanks!
