They do. Both ships you've been on have a free dry-sauna in the men's locker / shower room area. The Connie, Millie, Infinity an Summit all have a nice window to look out of the the sauna holds about 10 guys comfortably. The S-class, all have the dry sauna as well, but window-less and smaller size. Locker room way smaller too with no cool-down area.

Not sure about the Century, went on the sister ship Mercury and there was a small dry sauna in the men's locker room. Held maybe 4 or 5.
Thanks Gary, I'LL look for then the next time we cruise Celebrity. Not this year as we are all book out. But I'm looking into my fall, winter 2013 and spring 2014 cruises now.

I believe that Serenade of the Sea has recently undergone refurbishment, does anyone know if the sauna/steam areas have been altered? - I'm hoping not as I am not a fan of co-ed facilities.

I can't see how they would do that, as each men and women's areas have their own steam and sauna's.

Has anyone got any information/knowledge of the gym and spa facilities on the Norwegian Jade. Is the sauna/spa free. Are they co-ed or seperate male and female ones. Looking at going on this ship in February

The facilities on the Jade are very good, although you do have to pay for a pass, you can buy one when you get on board for the whole length of your cruise.

There are separate areas for men and women as well as a co-ed ares will some loungers and a therapy pool.

The single sex area has a great sized sauna with a huge outside window.

The steam room is a bit smaller but an adequate size.

There is a plunge pool and a whirl pool, 'rain' showers for warm or cool showers together with showers in the middle of the area.

It is well worth the extra, although it is quieter probably due to the cost.

I believe there is a free steam room just off the gym area, but I never used it, but I believe it only holds 2-3 people.

The courtyard villa's also have separate steam rooms, but again these are very small.

Hey All, headed on a B2B on Celebrity's Millennium, soon. Haven't been on a "Solstiized" M-class ship yet, only the former.

If you have been on the before and after, were any changes made to the sauna, changing area or showers in the men's area?

Thanks and happy sailing.

I liked this set up because of the privacy of the area. You do not have to go through the locker/shower area to get to the gym. This keeps the kids out!!!

There is a nice changing area with mirrored locker doors, adequate sized sauna and steam with frosted glass to the outside. The showers are amazing.....behind a lockable wooden door with multiple shower heads!! Only a few guys were ever in there at a time, and this area is clothing oprional. Met a few nice guys there ....and it is very nice being able to do this in the buff!!!

Thanks for the MSC information, I am leaving on the MSC Musica in a few weeks.

Found a spa package that includes access for a week and multiple treatments for 390 Euros.

Did you use the facilities at all? Even though it is co-ed I can live through that for the chance to relax. What were the changing rooms/showers like? I am sharing a cabin with a roomate and usually use the spa area for showering/dressing. They are bigger and helps keep me motivated to work out if I am up there.

The gym on the ship is very nice. Treadmills facing the front of the ship with a good view of the ocean. Equipment and free weights available.
The steamroom and sauna are nice. Good steam with 2 showers. The sauna is rather small, but has a window looking out on the ocean. The locker room has sink, shaving cream, razors, and combs available. It is men only.
All in all a very nice area.

I didn't use the facilities on MSC Splendida but had a look at the general area. They looked very nice but unfortunately didn't get to view the changing rooms and showers but would expect them to be good, or at least bigger than of those in the cabin. Not sure if they would be private ones or shared.
Every day there were specials advertised with treatments often being up to 50% off. I had a hair cut which was very well priced. It's difficult to say whether you could do better than 390 Euros once you're on board. I guess it depends how much you expect to use the facilities. I think the standard price for 1 hour in the sauna was 16 euros but most days you could buy them a fair bit cheaper. If you are planning to have several massages and use the saunas etc it might be a good price - all depends on how often you are on board versus being off the ship on shore excursions.

The saunas are not in locker rooms; there are free saunas on the Lido deck, one each for men and women. They are small, perhaps 4-5 people. You just walk in, hang your clothes on a hook, grab a towel to sit on and enjoy. There is also a shower stall in each area but no sink or toilet.
[PS - I have not been on this particular HAL ship but have been on her sister ships with the same layout.]

Chatted w Ship Services & they informed me that there IS a sauna in the men's locker room on the Nieuw Amsterdam. Makes it much easier that way since when I'm not on an excursion (only 3 sea days out of 19!) I'll spend my day @the spa & Retreat Cabanas.

I saw another guy asked about the stream/sauna layout for the Coral Princess but there was no reply. Anyone know if there are separate facilities? I heard the pay area is entirely coed which is a bummer. By the way, nothing has ever compared to the NCL Jewel! Worth every extra penny they charged!

Thinking of sailing Celebrity Century. Can anyone tell me about their spa facilities? Charge for steam/sauna? Coed or male/female only?
