Tomorrow I start my new job.... seems a bit surreal actually. I was at my last one for 4 years and was happy there, but with all the changes (big new store 10x the size and all the new people coming in I couldn't see myself there at all) so am happy to be offered this job. This week alone three of us have resigned. There will be more, everyone is looking for a new job before the move in six weeks.
Barb, I agree with Sandi. Lovely to see you back on here, as it is not the same without you. Good idea to just relax for awhile to refresh, which is just what I'm doing after my travels.

Eileen, Hope all goes well with house settlement today, as well as with your new job. Sounds like it was time for a change all around.

Well, I had my first day at the new job and I think I will like it. It is very different to my last one so it will take a while to get used to it. I got a VERY large pay increase by moving jobs, so that is good.

The settlement has been put back to Wednesday..... this is because the buyers bank is not ready! They are the ones that wanted to settle on the 13th and now it won't be until the 22nd..... Idjuts! I have put in a monetary penalty for good measure! LOL

Thats a fabulous cruise. I like the idea of starting in Singapore. So much to do there, and you will be leaving from the new cruises terminal as well.

I'm still here folks , mostly reading the boards these days. 12 months since my stroke. 12 months since I had a smoke. 12 months since I had a drink...and ages since I had a cruise.

What a boring life.

David, you need to book a cruise! How can you bear to read about all these cruises on Cruise Critic and not book one?

I'm happy to hear about the new cruise terminal in Singapore. The container port our ships docked in previously was very inconvenient. I plan on visiting my son in Singapore prior to this cruise and he can possibly enter the terminal area by the end of 2013 to see us off (from what I have read). Great news!

I am still lurking! My leg stent seems to make it easier for me to walk. I am now starting to mentally prepare for my Island canal cruise 9/28.

Sally, thanks for hanging in there. Glad your leg is better. I've been reading PescadoArmadillo's blog and thread on her Alaska cruises on the Island. She seems to be enjoying the ship immensely. She really has a way with words, too. Always a good read. Hope you have just as good a time on your canal cruise coming up in only a month.

Hi everyone,

Busy week for me with starting a new job, still unpacking bits and pieces and Stacey and Cash (her puggle dog) coming to stay Saturday night.

I have been getting organised for our next cruise coming up in Feb... six months will fly. Just booked two tours for Beijing using the same tour guide we used in 2010. It will be nice to see her (she is pregnant so I am sure it will be photos all around LOL).

The house sale went through finally on Wednesday afternoon, it was held up another day by their solicitor (lawyer) not sending the right documents - DUH! Cost them another $120 for the extra day!

Okay David looks like to me the doctor should give you a pretty clean bill of health so get with it and book that cruise!

Sally I'm delighted the stent seems to be doing the trick for you. Fingers crossed that it continues so positively.

Eileen boy have you had a bunch on your plate. I'm glad the house closing if finally done. It's wonderful your new job is of you liking as sometimes the grass looks greener on the other side when it really isn't. Big pay raise, YAHOO!!!

Sandi thanks for the kind words. The grandkids seem to be dealing with all of this without much trauma and that's my highest priority. I had a great time playing taxi for them. The 14 year older is just a hoot! He's a normal teenager with the ability to mumble when he doesn't think you can hear him but he has managed to retain his sense of humor and is still fun to be around. At one point he asked me if I thought his mother had found his younger brother some place along the roadside as he was so strange.

Marion do you have an upcoming cruise planned?

I did see on the Princess board where Yvonne was having a problem with Princess reducing her OBC since she was spending a couple of days off ship. I hope she gets it straight as it certainly didn't seem fair.

Barb, I have a 14 year old grandson, too, and had to laugh at your description of that age boy. My grandson, fortunately, likes his younger brother, but that's probably because he's so much younger and so cute at that age. The older boy is playing football this year at high school, the younger will be 4 years old this coming Sunday. And all the grandkids are anxious to move in two weeks time into the new home.

The job is going great.... lots to learn, but I am getting there....

The days go so quickly now and I don't have to put up with irate and rude customers any more, the extra $300 a week helps too LOL!

I guess we are al still here. 27 days before I sail under the Golden Gate.
Anyone have trouble with Isaac?
Yesterday I had a procedure (quick - 20 minutes) that collapsed a varicose vein. That's the problem when you get old!
