a delicious unnecessary carb! YUM! We had a french bread. God was it good. It was still warm so the butter just melted over it. Just give in to temptation!



In other news I can not tell you how excited I am for 2013. First we go on our 10 day cruise, then I'm going to LA, and then in the fall we are going to Paris, Brussels, Dusseldorf/Cologne & Amsterdam. Life is good! I'm sure we will go other places too but for me that's enough right now.

I'm calling it Honeymoon 1 & Honeymoon 2...haha I've been to Paris/southern France, southern Germany (black forest area) and Switzerland but I've not been to the rest so I'm excited. Pete has only been to London. My friend is currently working at the university in Leuven which is a perfect location. Its an easy day trip to Brussels/Dusseldorf/Cologne and then Paris and Amsterdam are only two hours via train. Next year is her last year there so I decided we had to go. She then moves back to Sydney so visiting Australia will be up next! I think after our Bermuda cruise we may be putting cruising on the back burner for a while.

My niece and nephews went to Germany for a few weeks when they were in high school and stayed with a family whose son had lived with them as a foreign exchange student here in Tennessee. They got to go so many places and had a wonderful time. I was so jealous!

I did the same thing in high school. That said I did study German for five years. I spent 3 months living in Freiburg im Breisgau. There were about twenty of us who went then our German counterparts came and stayed with us. They only came for two weeks though. I went again in College and lived in Bonn since I took German for two more years (7 total). I have forgotten a lot of it but I can get back into it pretty easily.

There are even more today! This has been a great trip so far and that's not the five glasses of wine I had tonight talking. It really is the break from reality I needed. Tonight we did Voodoo donuts. It really was amazingly delicious. I'm probably gaining weight here but i don't even care, its worth it.
