Default Confused - Appropriate Tip Private Driver/Guide All Day Tour - Egypt

Hi,

I have read so many past threads that my head is spinning. The amount that people are tipping in Egypt for tours seems to vary so much.

My husband and I have a private driver and guide, for an all day tour from Alexandria to the pyramids, Cairo, etc. Cost is $200 total.

What is expected, and appropriate for the driver and the guide??

I appreciate all of your help!!

Often tipping varies by country you are from and country you are visiting and your own views.

I go into it with the idea of a 10% to 15% tip. If I am not pleased with the tour I would tip no more than the 10% and possibly even less if the tour guide and driver were not to my liking. If I am happy with the tour I would tip around the 15% and if it was exceptional likely a little more.

For me, 2 people (driver and a separate guide) two tips. 10% to the driver and 15%+/- depending on the guides level of expertise and service.

Thank you both! I am going to stick with 10% to the driver, and 15% to the guide, if we are pleased.

This helped a lot, thank you!!!
