Freestyle sunbathing on NCL Epic - Page 4

No, what i meant was that one (cute ) guy sunbathed in the nude while I was there, and his friend came later and stripped down to his trunks, sunbathed and never took them off! I saw them both at a FOD gathering in that glitzy Lounge with a bar and floor show. I was sorry I hadn't visited a FOD meeting/gathering and gotten to know them; maybe running into them on the freestyle deck might have freed up Mr. Trunks only...just a thought.

I sunned nude while on the Freestyle deck on the Epic last November. Unfortunately, I was the only one there, wish others had joined me.

On the TA trip in October so will hope to get on the sundeck then , if warm enough or only to scare away the dowagers!

Sorry men. I guess it HAS been a long time since I have been on here hasn't it? My apologies. Well as it turns out, I DID find the freestyle deck and I WAS able to sunbathe nude with no problems. I'm sure others have probably already reported on it, but the freestyle deck is rather small, with only about 16 lounge chairs up there. But that was more than enough as the most people who were up there whenever I was up there was about 10, all older individuals. Every now and then you would get the random passenger who ventured up there thinking they were going to find a better vantage point to take pictures and not realizing what they were stumbling into. The shocked looks were rather comical as were the repeated glances back over the shoulder as they beat a hasty retreat.

As we were on a mid-October sailing, my only complaint was that there was occasionally a colder breeze blowing over the top of the area than there probably would be on a mid-summer sailing. Other than that, I look forward to doing it again when we take the same cruise in October of 2013.

Just back from a Canada sailing on Gem...obviously no use of the Freestyle Deck during the cruise BUT did come across something interesting? humorous? tittlating? about the Freestyle Deck that I hadn't noticed before. On the back back of the Freestyle Daily where it lists all the opening and closing times, it shows the Freestyle Deck being open 24 hours a day

. I am sure on Atlantis cruise this may be the case and the deck well...ahem...used

, but part of me wondered if it serves as a simlar spot on non chartered cruises

Hopefully it will be a little warmer on the TA, at least once we start heading south!

Ah! I am so excited to here the Jewel has a Freestyle Deck! I love going to Sandy Hook beach near NYC and being all clothing optional in the sun! Wow, my cruise just got a whole lot more interesting!

My two cruises to the Med in Sept were rather chilly on deck...can't imagine stripping down in those temps....
(A specific Seinfeld episode comes to mind....)

I am traveling on breakaway in May, I am not one to strip down, plus traveling with mom. I would love to go up there to get a better vantage point for some pictures.

Would this be a problem? I would obviously not be taking pictures of anyone, just the ship.

Just go to deck 18 using the elevator outside the buffet to the right if you are facing the front of the ship. The Freestyle deck doesn't actually have any good views of the ship.

When we were on in Jan, there was only one guy there and he was fully nude.

encourage your Mom to take a nap after Lunch and you go upstairs to the Freestyle Deck, strip down and take your pics. You see when you go up there clothed(and with a camera)it puts off the rest of us naked guys...so be brave and be naked and make sure your camera is never pointed towards us...ok bro? how old are you anyway?

We have been on the Epic and spent as much time on that freestyle deck. There were a handful of us naked but not everyone. As far as taking pictures, if you go to the top of the stairs to this small deck, you can take pictures without actually entering the nude section. However, if some of the nudists desire to be visible from that point, they can. So beware. As long as you don't aim your camera at them, there should be no problem. Lots of people did that. Some didn't see the small sign at the bottom of the stairs and walked in much to their surprise. Priceless actually.
