@welldone60 , Thanks for letting me know what is happening in Long Beach on the weekend of the 6th.
Hmm? I wonder if even driving up on the 7th will be a pain because of street closures???
At least we have plenty of time to figure it out!!

No, because technically you can get to the port without going through downtown and the area where the course is. Just allow a lil extra time for traffic. You'd have to come in on the 710 and follow the signs to port. From Alamitos Bay to just before the bridge to the port and one block below ocean blvd are where the closures will be (you can look at a map of the GP course to get an idea of this) the key is to stay to the 710 side of town.

For anyone visiting DT LB while the race course is set up, the passport stops will be slightly altered. They'll be near where the maps show them and marked with a temporary sign attached to whatever is nearby.

Thankyou BSQ- for the directions.
I couldn't find any info on the race that weekend.
The only site I found was for the Grand Prix later in the month.
Hmm? OK I found the Forumula Drift web site and they say the first round Streets of Long Beach will be on Apr. 12.
Is the race on the 6th before that or was that the date for last year????

Welcome.

Not sure who gave you the original information, but they were using the 2012 dates which have already happened. The drift series is usually the weekend before the GP. April 12 is correct for 2013

It shouldn't be as the Long Beach freeway (just off the 405 which you'll be on coming from San Diego) literally ends at the cruise port. Just follow the signs that say Queen Mary.

The street closures will be to the east of you in downtown Long Beach.
