There have been several threads on this one which was deleated because the op was telling it like it was and CC did not like how they worded it. I know there are some big groups out their I have been on a cruise with one and it was not the best time... This group took over parts of the ship at night I under stand where the OP here is coming from.. Just google your ship and sail date that may help

if 200 people are waiting to get into the theater... 200 are still waiting to get into the theater
The whole thing is that 3000 people might want to use the pool (or anywhere else for that matter) but if the large group has it reserved for their 1000 guest then 2000 will just get turned away and not be able to use what they paid for. Same thing could go for the theater. If the large group reserves it every night and and pays for the use everyone else is just out of luck.(I know that the every night thing is a little far fetched)

I do completely understand that point and its a valid one. I guess i just feel that i wouldnt let it bother or ruin my vaca id just go to another pool or the spa or anywhere else and enjoy myself... i try not to let anything or anyone ruin my precious days off... much like the weather you can only control yourself not the weather or people around you. I paid to take a cruise... I paid for a cabin while in transit... the "ammenities" that are included are sometimes unavaible wether bc of a group or maintenance.. such is life, Im not gonna cry about it

We would be on an elevator and someone would hold it open to finish a conversation with 30 or 40 of their friends standing around. It just never stopped the entire time...all sorts of things that you would not expect.

The cc meet and greet is usually just a one-time gathering. Yes, it takes up space once, and I have never been to a cc m&g with more than a couple of dozen people. We are talking groups of 1000 - HUGE! No comparison.
We did the Disney Wonder as part of a Chrysler Group cruise there were about 500 of us, and we did get better service, special attention, and when there was guest contact with the entertainment staff, they went out of their way to pick kids from our group rather than other guests, and it would have upset us if the shoe was on the other foot.

As for meals they did prioritize for us, it was great for us, but it would not want on one if not part of it.

One thing would not bother me either, but a lot of the time it is something every night and it just gets old thinking whats going to be closed tonight.

Its like going to Disney and one of the lands is closed because someone rented it out for the day and they did not tell you when you bought your ticket.

We all know DISNEY cruises have a lot of little kids on them...At the least 1,000 kids on every cruise.. I will not go on a DISNEY cruise because of this.. Its not because i don't like kids,(I have 4 older kids ,20 or older) its because I KNOW there will be 1,000 small screaming kids on board !! I have this option because its a known fact there is alot of kids on DISNEY cruises!!!! I should have this option on any ship that i go on and it is taken over by any large group (1,000)..

I get why some people feel the way they do, it just really doesnt bother me at all... the boat is filled to capacity no matter what....
You made your point!!! About 20 times.

I have concluded that your place in cruise heaven is guaranteed. Mine, however, Will be occupied by the thousands of group/theme cruisers who have on 3 occasions solicited/bored/annoyed me beyond my easy-going ability to make allowances for.

Yes extremely large groups can be a pain...

IF they move "in mass".... (taking up the preferred dining times or all the Your Time Dining or shore excursions) ...

the Blogger's cruise folks do not move in mass. Our parties and shows are either when no one else would be using a venue during the day OR AFTER the main shows at night....(which makes it hard for our older cruisers...but it is what it is).

Extremely large groups can also be a pain IF they are all in cabins around you and declare the cabin area their own personal party station until 3AM....

And yes, they can be a pain if their conduct is not what you want to be around. Carnival advertises itself as a family cruise line and flashing of the boobs, screaming profanity and vulgar acts do not fit that description.

There is a reason I do not book a vacation at Hedonism I or II .... and while I could care less who else vacations there (folks can swing from the chandeliers for all I care)..... there is nothing wrong with me if I do not want to be around it.

Groups Ahoy was a site for years that was very reliable....but it is no longer functioning.

There are also very valid reasons for one location to find out this kind of information....our son with Autism has severe panic attacks around mascots.

If there was a clown group (or even the Goth groups)...we would have to get off the ship (or he would have to stay in his cabin).

People deserve to know what they are buying when they book a cruise, and anything that alters the :norm: should be out there for folks to make an informed decision.
