Default Extra storage on Carnival for dive gear

The title says it all! Dh wants to know if there is any extra storage on Carnival (conquest), where they'll hold our dive gear. I told him know no, but he's making me ask.

haha....thanks in advance

No, you just keep it in your room. I wouldn't want to store my gear where it was out of my sight.

Lots of storage in the 3 closets and under the beds to me.

Can't you just put it under the bed with the suitcases?

I keep mine in my bag and stick it in the corner out of the way. . I do always get an aft wrap suite, so it's easy to do that. Even on the much smaller room I had on Oasis, it stayed out of the way in the corner. I don't want it in the the steward's way, either.

It won't fit under the bed without squishing it, and I won't treat my gear that way.

Question Golf Clubs?

I have the same question about golf clubs. If DH brings his clubs, where could they be stored in the room? If we put the two beds together, how much room do you have between the bed and the outside wall - by the balcony?

I can't imagine they would fit under the bed....

Yeah, last year we rented gear..... we are bringing our own this time. And I want to make sure there is room, without compromising our equipment.

There is actually a good amount of room under the beds. Also space in corners and such.

I brought my snorkeling gear (with some extra stuff, enough for 2-3 people) on my last cruise and that's exactly where I put it: under the bed. There was plenty of room.
The next choice would have been the 'taller' closet by the door.

Our gear just went into the closet closest to the door. Fit with no problem and easy to get to.

We store it in the cabin. Plenty of room for a BCD and a wet suit and snorkel/fins... You are not allowed to bring on a tank and if you bring a dive knife they will hold it for you. From the website-

Knives with blades longer than four (4) inches ( Recreational dive knives are allowed but must be held in the custody of the Guest Services Manager or Chief Security Officer and must be checked out/in by the owner for dive excursions during the cruise.)
• Dive tanks (empty or full), diver spears/slings

Default Wet gear

Our gear would fit nicely in one of the closets, or in a suitcase under the beds. Note: this will only work when it's dry.

Once we'd got it wet, things got a little more complicated. We always have a balcony and we'd let it dry there. Keeping in mind that the ship is moving and it might get windy, we'd secure it to the furniture. This had worked for 6 cruises, however, on our last cruise, the stateroom steward insisted we keep the gear in the cabin when we were out. So he moved everything inside ("it's a fire hazard, you can't have anything on the balcony"). It was pretty annoying to have all this wet gear laying around, and it must have been a drag for him too, having to move 2 sets of full gear back inside (mind you, we secured it pretty good).

What I want to say is: you'll need space to dry your gear, too.

Under your bed. Your dive bag will fit fine. Hopefully your stuff is dry when you get back to your room.

But then it gets wet again when you rinse it to get the salt off.

Its going to be wet either way... if they held it for you somewhere or if you keep it. I agree its a pain in the butt. We hung our suits in the shower until dry. If possible, rinse the gear at the dive shop as it is easier to do than in the shower of your cabin.

I would rather have to deal with my gear being wet and inside my cabin drying out than wet in a locker somewhere getting moldy...

bring hangers for the gear, there is nothing in the cabin to hang it from.

We actually brought our dive gear when we were on the Conquest. We put our dive bag with gear under the bed. Washed equipment at dive shop. Brought equipment back damp and then dried it out all over the balcony and shower. It really was a pain bringing our own equipment but its what I'm used to.

Not all dive bags will fit under the beds. I have a rolling bag and the frame of the bottom will not fit under the bed without lifting the bed up. Since I dive at every port where it's possible, I'm not into multiple bed liftings. And, if there is gear in it, the bag absolutely will not fit under the bed.

Bottom line is it has to fit in your stateroom.

As far as things on the balcony, stewards often move them inside. Not sure about a fire hazard, but they do sometimes clean the balconies and it needs to be clear.

You especially don't want your gear on the balcony when they swab the Lido deck. We had that happen one time. The gear was almost dry when the flood came over the balcony. LOL
