Sorry, I need advice on how to contact fellow cruisers to ask if anyone wishes to share transport to Grand Mosque in Muscat, during Solstice cruise from Dubai Nov 11th. Am not usually so dim on forums, but I'm stumped this time. Could it be old age/senility setting in - Oh no !!!!!

I would suggest only posting your email address on line if you are a big fan of spam. I've seen many roll calls where the information about sharing tours/transfers is posted - without using email.
If you should decide you do want to use email, I'd suggest setting up a temporary address that is disposable. Even then, I'd suggest doing something besides the typical spelling out 'at' and 'dot'. One thing I've seen to foil the bots searching the net for addresses is throwing in extra letters in the address, like X. Then posting to remove all Xs to get the actual address. |

Welcome to Cruise Critic.
Good luck in finding someone to share a ride with you via your Roll Call. I know that we could never share a ride with anyone no matter what we would be in -- we always have 4 large suitcases and 2 carry-ons plus a back pack. Not much room for even 1 more person.

Or maybe you take all of that on an excursion.

KK, I am a great admirer of your contributions to the CC, in part because of your vast experience. I’ve looked through your posts but I couldn’t find anything recent from you on this issue. After the many, many cruises you undoubtedly have cruising down to science, including knowing exactly what to pack and what not to pack. I certainly understand that there is very little to be gained by packing light as is the case for other types of travel, but it is hard for me to understand what possibly could take up 4 large suitcases. If it is not too personal, can you let a newbie such as me know what you are packing that others do not. What is it that we are missing?

Hi ALL,
Thanks to everyone for your replies and helpful suggestions. I now have two friends to share the transport, but as yet no luck in booking a taxi. Either the names given only do tours or they haven't replied yet. However, there's still a few days to go so not giving up yet. Cheers everyone. On the big countdown now - can't wait!!!! |
