Mike, I am soooooo sorry. I was really worried about this, seeing as you guys live on Staten Island. Thank God you, Beth and your babies are safe.

I know it seems like a distant thought, but if you ever just need to get away, you have an option down here. When things have settled down a little, give me a call. You guys are in our thoughts.

HI Mike and Beth,

Glad to hear you are ok. As soon as I saw the news and they showed Staten Island I was thinking of you both. The storm was unbelievable!

We had a little damage, but it can all be fixed.

Hope everyone else is doing ok from the storm.

HI Rodger,

Good to hear from you! Thanks for asking about Mom. She is doing well. She had to stay in the hospital a few extra days, because her diabetes was way off. But it's all good now. She is staying at my place because she still doesn't have electric. Either does Vicky!!

Now for your cabin.....

Your cabin was surrounded by "white space", a sign of use by the crew. Did you hear any noises from the surrounding area? Nope, no crew noise, just a little from above since we were close to under the pool

One of the comments that I have heard about sideways cabins is that one of the beds is right up against a wall shared with the aisle and you can easily hear noises from people walking in the corridor. That was my bed, and only once did I hear people and it was little kids running up the hall

How did you find the layout of the sideways cabin in comparison to a normal cabin? Did you find it easier to get around? I loved it. For three woman having to get ready, it worked out great with the bathroom and dressing area to do our hair!

And so the bottom line question, if given a choice would you select a sideways inside cabin or a normal inside cabin on your next cruise? Yes, I would choose it again

Well maybe it is better that we didn't bring this up during the Bermuda sail-away......the island would have disappeared below the horizon before we would have finished. lol, yes, I can be talker, and I'm a people person!

Give my best to your mother and say "Hi" to Vicky for me.... will do, say HI to Barb for me, Terri and Bud too!!

Hey found you guys~!! Yey! We were so worried about Beth and Mike you guys got a direct hit! I am so sorry to hear about all the devistatation and you loss! We got lucky in CT due to the storm taking a last minute turn but lots of clean up here because we are on long island sound. Lots of water and sand from the storm and high tides. So glad to hear everyone is safe.

Hi Everyone,

Just booked a last minute cruise and we leave on Sunday. The Jewel to Florida and the Bahamas. Got a crazy price when I booked it on Black Friday. I won't be the same without all of you!!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Mike and Beth,
I am so sorry to hear your news. I wondered how you guys faired. I'm glad both of you and the birds are okay. The rest is just stuff that could be replaced. The main thing is your ok. Hope things are getting back to normal.
Off to see Rodger and Barb soon.

Lots of rooms still available per the roll call chatter just in case you need to escape NY.
Looks like they are hosting another lunch after the room call.
I'll let Rodger and Barb know you said hi
Best to you and Beth.

As was everyone else, I was very impressed with the map you created for the cabin crawl.

I am most interested in how you made it.

Where did you get the images of the deck plan? Did you just pull the .PNG images from the NCL website?

What program did you use to put together the images and the text? Was it Adobe Acrobat?

I thought the map was a work of art.

Until later....Say "Hi' to Mike for me.......
Rodger
Hi Rodger... sorry it took so long for me to find you all. Between Sandy... UGGG we live at the Jersey Shore... what a mess... work and the holidays, it has been interesting....

I used a program called full shot to grab the pics from the NCL website and add the text. You could also use Adobe if you have the writer installed which allows you to add text to the screenshots. Word can also be used but it is a bit more challenging.. but still doable.

Hope that all are doing well... that Mike and Beth have recovered some from Sandy and everyone had a happy and healthy holiday season....

Our next cruise is coming in about 7 weeks... we are traveling on the Jewel (the week after Mike and Beth I think - so don't wreck the ship).

Smile Greetings All

Greetings Everyone,

Just checking in to let all our friends out there know that Beth and I are doing fine.

I am happy to say that we have our heads "above water", now that I have installed a new heating and A/C system, new tank less water heater, new roof and gutters, completely gutted the entire finished basement, which makes a good play area for our new addition to the family (a rescued female pit bull).
We are still deciding if we should rebuild the basement or not.

On a happy note, Beth and I are excited about our upcoming cruise 3/3/13, we only wish that all our friends from our last cruise would be joining us.
The CC group that are taking the same cruise seem to be somewhat dead with their postings, with 6 weeks left before the cruise I think we have a total of 2 pages of postings for the M&G.

I hope one day we can have a reunion cruise, if so, count Beth and I in.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Mike & Beth

Hi Mike and Beth... glad to here that you are recovering from Sandy... I still am in awe of the power of that storm... we were fortunate that it was only outside property damage for us and being without power and cell service for many many weeks... we do not realize how much we depend on those to connect us to people. We could not get out of our development and it was over a week before I could track down all the family to ensure that they were OK.... many of our family members lost everything... but we did not loose anybody... thank goodness.

We are cruising the Jewel two weeks after you - our CC group is a little more lively than yours... but without you and rodger... well... what can I say.... Please try to leave the ship in good shape... .

Default Count down

Hi folks,
Hope the people effected by the snow storm we just had didn't get effected too badly. Beth and I did fine I think we were hit with 6-8" of snow.

In another 3 weeks from today Beth and I should be getting into Carl's van for the trip to the pier, can't wait, it's been months since we had a vacation.

Mike and Beth

Hi GMA Pat and Mike: Glad everything is getting better post Sandy. We are in Bucks County PA and were even hit pretty hard by the Superstorm. What a scary storm? Hope you both have great cruises aboard the Jewel coming up in March! Mike, How are the parrots? Must have been an ordeal keeping them safe with no electricity and heat for so long?

Smile Hi All

That's for the well wishes, we are doing fine, hope and pray that everyone effected by Sandy are up and running now.
10 more day are we are outta here for a week, thank God.
The birds are well, we had to board them for 2 weeks until we installed the new heating system and gut the basement to rid the mold, all is good now, still waiting on money to finish the basement

Hope to see some of the crew soon,

Mike & Beth

I am glad things are getting better for you, Beth, the parrots and the new dog! Have a great trip on the Jewel. I am sure the two of you really need this vacation after all you have been through. Hey, if your itinerary stops in Port Canaveral and you aren't sure what to do, the air boat excursion through NCL is pretty reasonable and lots of fun. We saw lots of gators. Enjoy!

Not sure if anyone is still posting or reading this page anymore.

I was just talking about this cruise the other day and it was my favorite one of all time! Would love to cruise again with some of the gang.

I just booked the Breakaway with the family on Sept 22. Let me know if anyone else has any cruise plans.

Hope everyone is well!
