Thanks for the well wishes.

Gail I hate the dentist, peridontist etc! They had to give me IV sedation to get this done-it wasn't gonna happen without me being totally out.
Had a graft done several years ago and it wasn't fun. I didn't have the option of being knocked out, just numbed. The shots in the roof of your mouth are the worst because they cannot mask the pain like they can in other parts of the mouth. Afterwards my mouth swelled up really bad and had to go back to the doc and he just said go home and increase pain meds, so I feel your pain and hope yours will continually decrease.

I went for a check-up this morning and got a gold star and now am good for a few months, fingers crossed. Maybe I should have asked him to wire my mouth shut so I could shed some pounds before April.

Anyone who likes going to the dentist must be masochistic.

Dixie--I can sympathize. I am having a small surgical procedure tomorrow. I have made soup--because I know I will be under the weather. [nothing big]

Hope all goes well with your surgery Dragon!

And Tommy I cannot imagine that you had this type of thing done and was not knocked out! My doc said he could do it either way and I said No-the only way this is happening is you knock me out. It cost me more (I don't have any dental insurance) but I don't care!

It's a cold rainy day and I would love a big bowl of soup or chili but not gonna happen.

Last night my sisters & I took my dad to see his sister, she had her 96th birthday this past October, I got a call about 6:30 from my cousin saying that my aunt was in her last hrs of life.. My dad was there to hold his sister's hand until she passed away..there were ten brothers and sisters, my dad is the only one left ,
he is 93.

It was so peaceful & beautiful. seeing my dad and her family around her when God called her home ..

Barb your family will be in our thoughts. How fortunate that your Dad was able to be with his sister. Not many people have that privilege.

Barb, you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I'm off to a funeral home this evening, the mother of a dear young man at work passed away.

Barb-so sorry for your loss. Glad you and your dad were able to spend some time with her recently.

And Ed-your crown will be a piece of cake compared to what I had done! I would trade places with you in a heartbeat. Hope it goes well for you.

Well, still pretty miserable today. The swelling is bad (even with icing it once an hour all day!) and I look like I have a big wad of chewing tobacco in my mouth. Still can't eat anything. You never really realize that every single thing, liquid or solid or soft food, touches the roof of your mouth. No way around it. Believe me I've tried. And the instructions they give you-let's just say that whoever wrote those has never had this done to them. Like brush the teeth that are not involved in the surgery site! Really? Tried it-didn't work so well.
Eat macaroni and cheese or other soft foods-no chewing. Really? Not even going to try that. So far the best I can do is slim fast and yogurt and not much of that.

Hope the rest of you are doing well.

We have heard the "S" word in our forcast for tomorrow night. One to 6 inches or more depending on who you listen to. That's quite helpful.

Goodness Dixie, you sure are having a rough time of it. Well wishes going your way.

DGS wants snow so bad. I got him a new snow tube last year and it is still in the box!

Dixie--I am sorry you are still feeling so badly.

The stars lined up for me today. I was schedued to be at the hospital at 10:45 for a 12:45 procedure. I got a call last night from the hsopital that they had a cancellation and I was moved up to 10:45--be there at 8:45. So this morning at 7:25 I got a call that said can you get here sooner. [another cancellation]

When we got there they were waiting for me. I was in and out of the hospital by noon. I decided not to have a general anesth. and that made it faster. But, the drip they gave was a winner. I do not even remember the surgery.

We have the Snow word in our forecast, too. Most are saying 3-6. DH will be doing a of of carrying in wood--since I can not help him.

Glad everything went well for you and that you will recover quickly!

Today is the first day that I feel almost human again. The swelling is down some but eating and drinking is still hard. The doc called last night and told me to not be afraid to eat and drink-easy for him to say! Yesterday I did manage one scrambled egg but it took me hours to get it all down. That's the first solid food I have had. Good news is the pre-cruise diet is going great! 5 pounds lost since Monday-yeah I know not the way to go about it but I'm hoping to stay with it once I can eat.

I'm dreading the snow. Have been stuck in the house all week and not looking forward to being snowed in. Hopefully it will come and go quickly.
