If it's a 15 drink limit, it's a 15 drink limit. You are still saving a but load of $$$ by getting the package. Now, if you buy # 16+, do you get the 25% discount?

Normally I would sneak on the rum runners and hope they make it through. The aggravation of worrying about mixers and going back to the cabin every time I want a drink is enough for me to want to do this. Bottom line, it saves me $$$ and it's convenient.

Carnival will still make a profit, in fact I imagine they will make a HUGE profit on this. It's promoting people to not smuggle booze on board and it's tempting for those that would never buy a drink in the first place... The drinkers will buy the package, the non drinkers will by the package and the smugglers will buy the package. They may be pouring more drinks but they are producing a lot more revenue because of it.... and don't forget those people that over do it on the first day and get so sick that the sight of another drink would make them lose their lunch. Carnival just made a ton of money on them! haha!

Can anyone confirm if soda is included in the 15 drinks? I was cut off in Dec. but it included my soda from earlier in the day!!!

What does the 15 include, just booze or all drinks including soda?

For non-drinkers the cost is too much per day. Water is not included and I'm not sure who can drink that many sodas and other Virgin drinks a day to make it worth the cost. And I'm sure single supplement for a cabin to avoid sharing a cabin with a drinker isn't worth it either.

Anyone else have any "brilliant" ideas?

When I ordered a soda with the Cheers card on the Breeze and Splendor, they never swiped my card, or had me sign anything. Sodas are not supposed to count towards the 15 from what i was told.

I usually go to the casino...piano bar....sports bar...night club...so limited to 4 drinks for the evening.

Now this is a sea day....Port days would be much less....wouldn`t even come close to 15
Just get you a bucket of Beers to go with your breakfast...it would be a lot cheaper.

My dh can easily drink 15 drinks, heck there are 4 beers in a bucket. He is a large man w/ a high tolerance and he maintains and acts like a gentlemen. On my end I rarely drink more than 8 a day on my vacation and the reason why....... Have you seen the size of the glasses for mix drinks in the casino????? come on now a baby juice glass just doesnt cut it!! So yea if I am sitting in the casino I could easily get my quota.

DH was excited when I told him about the program but this will be a game changer. Unless it stands that we both have to buy the program then I could in fact share some of my 15 count w/ my husband should he run out .

Allowing sports waters, hot chocolate, lattes and other iced coffee drinks, offering more virgin drinks and juices, lowering price for non-drinkers (they could then also offer it to under-21 pax too.)

15 drinks x 7 days= 105 drinks... say 1 oz of alcohol per drink, that is a over a gallon and half of alcohol consumed in a 7 day period..... that will pickle some livers.

So, if I put my husband in the room with the under 21s and I would be in the room with the 21 year old and he (DH) bought the program, how would we do the switcharoo? After we have purchased the program? If that's the case, we would need to change the way the rooms are now set up (all the kids are together now and my husband and I are together), then change again once on board after purchase? Also, we purchased under different rates for the different cabins, so we would probably have to wait until after final payment has been made? This would be because I don't drink that much and I don't want the 21 year old drinking that much...DH can have the 15 drink limit.

Several responses…
a) And your point is....
b) Rename the program the “gallon and a half challenge”
c) Someone has to do it – I’ll sacrifice for the science of it
d) So other than the 3 “BM’s” and beers by the pool – a normal week
e) Lets see… we sail on the Victory in 3 weeks … 15 drinks per day… 18 bars on the ship… factoring in travel time and the required 5 minutes between drinks…. … 2 port days… … … … elevator wait time … … wind speed … … Karaoke … … piano bar sing along … … … dancing… … … … …

Does anyone have any real details on this? I was not able to load page 4 of this thread for some reason but I've read the rest. I don't see any links to any info other than the regular info that doesn't include anything about a limit.

This is the first I've heard of this program. I'm going on the Dream in July. This may be a good deal but the important questions are if sodas count toward the 15 and if you can purchase alcohol after the 15. I can easily drink 15 drinks in a day. I could do that and not really be drunk. Although I would probably do most of the drinking after dinner.

So any links to this info?

I found this on another site that indeed states it is 15 alcoholic. So hopefully this is a good deal. Depends on if the rum runners are successful.

Imagine my surprise, when I found out Drink Canada Dry was an ad campaign, not a challenge!

Actually, I really don't understand this rule... what difference does it make if two share the fifteen, or one drinks them all? Are they so sure one cannot finish 15, therefore by having them both purchase, they make more money with just selling half the drinks? I just don't get it...
