Judy, Happy belated B'day..I have been MIA! I got that horrible Sidney flu bug and it really gave me a run for my money! Have'nt been that sick in years!

We are Back!! Oh, what a nice cruise. Liberty is the ship for us now. I'm in love with that beautiful, clean, good service, best Latin Music Band, pretty promenade room, and many more... all good. The only problem is, like Freddie just said, the port Everglades is the worse port to cruise from. Today thousand people decided to carry their own luggage. The line started by the stairs on deck 3, ran around the Studio B, then down stairs (not easy with luggage) and all the way down to gangway on deck 1. Yes Deck 1. Then you have to do a long walk side by side to the ship (but I mean LONG), then go in long lines that twist like snakes, then inmigration, then looking for the shuttle (which was just right there) and then to the parking lot. The onboard was just as painful as this one. They started boarding after noon time, because the port didn't released the ship yet, I asked and they said that Port Everglades is a pain... with some ships. Well, Liberty is one of them. I remember last month in Tampa how easy it was. This was nonsense. Plus there were no lemonade or cookies to keep you in good mood. I hope that we don't have to go that port ever. Oh, a very old port worker, the one that tells you what line to go, treated me to send me to jail just because I got confused with one of the policemen there. He was calling somebody, but just with the hands wave. It looks that it was to us. So I started walking and this old gentleman told me that if I move from my waiting point (I was next) and go the police they will arrest me. I told him "No, they won't because I have nothing to hide or any wrong doing". Explained that I thought he was calling me. He got mad and continue saying that he will tell them to arrest me. Thanks God that they called me from the booth and I moved on. But he continued giving me bad looks. So, if you go there, be ware of the old guy that will send you to jail just for thinking that they called you, when they were calling someone else, with no names, just the hand wave and looking to you. Incredible.

Our last experience with the port of FLL (December) was night and day different than the above. We went to the assigned debarkation area onboard for self debarkation and were off the ship and on a Park-n-go tram to our car so fast we were stunned. By 7:30am we were in our car and on our way home across Alligator Alley. On previous cruises from FLL our experiences were similar although not quite that fast.
I'm not disagreeing with the review above, i'm sure they had a problem. Just saying their experience is not the norm.
