Hi all,
I've seen some Christian music cruises...just google it and you'll find Christian artist like chris tomlin, the afters etc...I think these cruises cost a bit more, but sounds like some great worship and concerts.

Thumbs up Christian Cruises

My DW and I are going on a "Gaither Alaskan" cruise next month on the MS Amsterdam. It is a fully charted cruise and is now booked out. It will feature Southern Gospel singing concerts twice daily (Ithink) with well known artist. The bars and casino will be closed, but you can still have wine etc with your meals. I believe that the cruise is more expensive than a normal cruise. There is also an inspirational speaker on board and daily devotional times, I believe. Bill & Gloria Gaither organise cruises each year, alternating between The Caribeen, Hawaii and Alaska and always featuring Southern Gospel singing (is there any other kind?).

Default Christian Cruises

Premier Christian Cruises puts on about 5 Christian cruises every year -- and they have the Music Boat this November. They charter an entire ship, but there is still alcohol for those who would like a drink, beer or glass of wine. The music and entertainment is all Christian acts -- this year it's Chris Tomlin, Mercy Me, Brandon Heath, Newsboys and a ton of others. And one of my favs -- Sanctus Real.
The prices are really good -- in fact they have a buy one cabin fare and get one free right now. I don't think it's that publicized, but you can get it if you ask about it. Great deal!

Ouch, that music boat cruise is 5 days and the cheapest interior room is $1600 on Carnival! Very cool musical artists but boy do you pay for it. I think I will stick with following this thread and see if we book something reasonable in the future.

I think the prices listed for this cruise are misleading.

the price is for two people (not a per person fare) and includes gratuities, taxes and fees.

My husband and I have been on all 3 cruises with Michael W Smith and Friends. His friends have included Amy Grant, Melinda Doolittle, Matthew West, Natalie Grant, Leeland, and Max Lucado. There is also a family friendly commedian, such as Jeff Allen and Henry Cho. There is a concert every day, sometimes 2. Usually daily morning devotions. Smingo, which is basically bingo with some fantastic MWS prizes. This is always used as our fundraiser. We have raised thousands of dollars for Samaritans Purse, Operation Shoebox, and a school for the blind in Jamaica. And then there is my favorite, Smittyoke where you get to go on stage and sing a MWS song while Michael and the band play for you!
The first 2 cruises were just half the ship but last year's was a full chartered cruise. All have completely sold out.
The next cruise is July 7-14, 2012, Canada & New England on HAL Maasdam. You can find more info on his website. We were booked within minutes after it was available. And no, I don't work for him, but I have friends that do. lol

You're right -- the website is misleading. And you can still ask about the buy one cabin fare and get one free. Have some friends that booked that -- I think they paid about 600 each and that included port fees, taxes and gratuities. Really good deal when you look at all the concerts and the fact that it's a fully chartered cruise.

Default Christian Music cruises

DW & I have cruised many times on Christian Music themed cruises. If you like contemporary Christian music these are great. Yes they are more than if you booked the same 5 day cruise on a different date. Here is why we have no provblem spending the extra dollars. First, they charter the whole ship and even the "musik" piped throught the ship is programed by the promoter. You have concerts by headline acts every night, previous cruises have included Third Day, Newsboys, Chris Tomlin, TobyMac, Jeremy Camp and many more. There are family friendly entertainers, DonB!, Brock Gill, Bello, Improv 123, Bob & Larry (Veggitails). Casino and bars are open however minimal usage. We have had Mac Powell from Third day stop by our dinner table. The artists will stop and talk with you. There are meet & greet session for almost all the artists and a chance to cruise with like minded individuals. The promoter is Premier Christian Cruises of which I have no affliation other than being a frequent customer. They also do Marriage enrichment cruises, Girl Getaway cruises and others. Please ask if you would like more information. I will be glad to share our experiences.

Fred, be careful here lumping homosexuals and vulgarity. Your ignorance betrays you.
You call this attitude "Human Dignity"????

Our church has done a group before, but this would be so much more fun and enjoyable. We may have to look into doing this next go around.

Default Gaither / Southern Gospel Music Cruises

My DH and I have been on 2 Gaither cruises to Alaska and one Southern Gospel Music cruise to the Caribbean. ABSOLUTELY LOVED all of them, but especially the Gaither cruises! As some have noted, they are more expensive because of all of the artists that need to be paid. So that is a drawback. But the whole ship was chartered and you just felt like you almost knew everyone on board though you had never met them.

However, that being said, earlier this month, we went on our first non-Christian themed cruise (also to Alaska with family) and I can't think of anything that was particularly negative or offensive. Well, some of the shows were a little racier than I enjoy, but it was more of a PG13 than an R rating I guess. And of course there was a spectrum of people, but most of them just seemed like regular people like the rest of us. We just tried to be salt and light.

My friend went on a Michael W. Smith cruise to Alaska a few years ago and she absolutely raved about it! There are plenty of Christian themed cruises if you can afford to pay a little more.

Wow. I realize this is old but just wow. I sure God appreciates you giving him the glory for allowing you to be such a good christian that you wouldn't want to sully yourself by even being on a ship with gay men. How wonderful for you. A brilliant way to share God's love. Wow.

Smile Music Boat

Getting ready to sail on the Music Boat November 6th. 5 days of Christian music on the Carnival Imagination sailing from Miami to Grand Turk. As mentioned before if you want a cheap trip look elsewhere but if your a concert junkie and add in all the concerts, meet and greets with most of the artists and the chance you could be in the same buffet line with your favorite artist. well worth the cost. just search Music Boat 2012

Default Bible study

My parents and I were on a Norwegian trans Atlantic cruise in 2009 and were delighted to see that there was a morning bible study on the agenda every day. I'm sure if enough people ask about it, the ship will be glad to allow a space for it every day.

Default Fellowship aboard

Hi folks. I am surprised to see so little discussion by Christians on this forum. However, I see some have commented that they would like to have fellowship with fellow Christian cruisers. It is not hard to organise!
My wife and I went on our first cruise last year from Vancouver to Beijing on the Diamond Princess.
With the encouragement of a lovely couple we met at breakfast, I wrote to the Cruise Director (hello Kelvin) who was most accommodating and helpful.
Yes, I am an ordained minister but anyone who wants to host a get-together should be able to get a place and time allocated which will be advertised on the ship's TV and daily newsletter. We kicked off with 80 participants - not bad!
We met on sea days in a dining room and studied the Bible together for half an hour. If you can't manage that, why not just meet and read a chapter of the Bible together? It is a fabulous way to enjoy the privilege of being part of God's family with people from all over the world while enjoying cruising.
A highlight was when we all sang 'Amazing Grace' while looking out over the blue ocean and remembering that John Newton (who wrote the hymn) had been a sailor and slave trader before God got his attention and radically changed his life.
The only thing I would ask is that (as always) you make your request with courtesy and respect. If refused, don't argue; you can still meet on decks or other public space.
May God bless all who sail!
Rev Phillip

Thumbs up www.christiancruises.net

In 2010, we took an Alaska cruise (Celebrity Infinity) that we purchased through this site www.christiancruises.net

There were about 200 other people on board who had also booked through this company, and paid higher rates, because we were treated to 2 hour-long concerts each day from Christian musicians (Don Francisco, Matthew Card, Dallas Holm, Michael Card, etc. -- this particular cruise had musicians who were popular in the 70's, 80's and 90's.)

The entire boat was open to all of us, but only those who paid and booked through this company were permitted to attend the concerts (in a small theater). It was a fabulous cruise - we got to know several of the performers individually, and it was worth the extra money (get a cheaper cabin than you would otherwise). As you would expect, the increased price was due to the need to pay the musician's fares for the cruise.

This kind of cruise might be a nice option for those who want to meet other believers and hear inspirational music but also enjoy the other things that a cruise has to offer. We travelled as a family, but it would be a particularly nice way for your Christian singles to cruise.

I believe that they offer 2-3 cruises per year -- some involve music and others have speakers.

If you go on a P and O cruise at Easter you will find plenty of Christian fellowship, with Chaplains both C of E and Catholic and the chance for daily worship and get together. Being a Catholic I like a drink after Mass so that suited me fine but it was nice to meet up with other Christians.
