These were taken around Windy Point, about 20 minutes south of Anchorage along Turnagain Arm on the way to Whittier & Seward. There is a good pull off in this area.

I love these photos. We looked and looked for Dall's sheep, particularly in Denali and around Turnagain Arm (I think, wherever the Milepost said to look for them), but never saw any.

I usually go down Turnagain Arm to Windy Point early morning on the weekends to look for sheep. Alaska Railroad's Coastal Classic train transports passengers past this area about 7:30am. The train slows to a crawl when there are sheep along the cliffs. I see them about half the time I go down but sometimes there may only be one high in the cliffs. This day they were only about 100 feet up from the road/train. The rams were actually below and about 50 feet from the highway
