Default airport transport company

Just wondering if anyone has any info for me regarding Airport transportation from Melbourne airport to downtown and also for Sydney to downtown. We will be traveling to Melbourne first than will fly to Sydney before our cruise.

In Sydney it is very easy to get from the Airport to the CBD on the train. There is a station at the airport and numerous others scattered around the CBD; no change of train is required. You can get virtually anywhere very easily.

The trains run regularly are safe, clean, and popular with travelers doing the same route.

A taxi will be breakeven from two passengers up. However, a taxi will often take longer than the train and some drivers make the trip altogether quite exciting.

If you're after a corporate experience then "Larry Swindells Specialised Transport Services" provides meet-and-greet transfers at about two to three times the price of a taxi.

Here is a link to the Skybus which will take you to Melbourne CBD with varying stops.

Taxi's rank up pretty well at the airport - we got a maxi taxi there to our hotel in Bourke Street in Dec 2013 - can't remember the price - but we found that to be ok for four people and four lots of luggage and four carry on's. Very comfortable.

You may care to look at :

www.towncars.com

I have used this mob a number of times.

They operate in both Sydney and Melbourne, and I have found them very reliable... and cost is same as taxi.... and drivers can carry a conversation in English

cheers

It's very easy to get a maxi at the Sydney airport. One maxi took the 6 of us and our luggage. No need for pre-arranged transfers.
