Rare Jamman54 Posted September 14, 2014 Author #126 Share Posted September 14, 2014 (edited) Thank you guys for your kind words, thoughts, and prayers. We know that we are not alone when it comes to dealing with tragedy. One of Kevin's friends died in a motorcycle accident the previous summer, and I remember how hard it was on him. We have a very good family and community support system that is taking good care of us as we go through this long painful process. This coming Friday we have been invited to a local production of Godspell, in which the Director and cast, many of whom he performed with growing up, have dedicated the opening night to him. That will be hard. We will continue to move forward as a family, fully believing that Kevin, and all of our other departed loved ones, are still with us, just in a different way! Now switching back to the task at hand, stay tuned for the next segment, which I should be posting later today!! Great therapy for me!! :) Edited September 14, 2014 by Jamman54

GREAT shots Joe!! Patti & Ryan were on the "secret" deck for sailaway, though I can't see them in your shot. Patti is the one who took the shot of you guys at Grill's. I was all the way back on Deck 10 aft taking video. Hope you don't mind me sharing a couple of your photos as the Liberty passes you. I zoomed in on those shots, and you can see me standing at the forward side of the glass enclosed stairway to Deck 9. The big Guy!!
Rare Jamman54 Posted September 14, 2014 Author #130 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Hello again everybody. It’s time to tell you all about our first day at sea on the Liberty. I awoke around 8 am to a beautiful day. Patti and Ryan elected to sleep in a little while longer, go have breakfast, then go to the 10am bingo session. I grabbed the camera, and went outside on our not so “secret” deck and snapped a few pictures….. Took this “selfie” on our cabin window….. The bow of the Carnival Liberty….. The ship’s bell….. Rare Jamman54 Posted September 14, 2014 Author #131 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Looking up one deck to the ship’s bridge….. Feeling hungry, I made my way to Emile’s (Lido buffet), to get some breakfast. Here are a couple shots of the Breakfast Grill, which is open from 7:30 to 10:30 on sea days, 7 to 10:30 on port days. The line further aft is open until noon for those late risers….. The omelet station, which becomes the Mongolian Wok for lunch….. To be continued….. Rare Jamman54 Posted September 14, 2014 Author #132 Share Posted September 14, 2014 The Coffee Bar in Emile’s….. Continental Breakfast is available starting at 6:30 am everyday….. One of the many beverage stations….. Having procured my usual favorite omelet,(mushrooms, jalepenos, ham, & cheese), I wanted to head up to Deck 10 by fish and chips, which is never crowded, and easy to find a table . Just follow the signs by the aft serving line….. To be continued…..

Shaded Lady Posted September 14, 2014 #136 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Jeff- I just noticed the quote in your signature with Kevin's initials from Dr. Seuss... not sure when you added it, I've been reading all your reviews since his passing, but I just noticed it today. I have to say I love that quote, and it could not be more perfect, or more applicable! Thank you for sharing your story with us!
Rare Jamman54 Posted September 14, 2014 Author #137 Share Posted September 14, 2014 The Blue Iguana Tequila Bar. Not as busy as the Red Frog….. The Lido hot tubs….. The towel hut….. Rare Jamman54 Posted September 14, 2014 Author #138 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Close up of the seal….. Looking at the wake of the Liberty…. Carnival Liberty life ring….. At this point I concluded my photo tour, and spent the next few hours utilizing the “Cheers” sticker on my S&S card at the Versailles Pool Bar. At 1pm I headed down to the Lobby Bar to meet up with the roll call cabin crawl. Patti met me there and notified me that she and Ryan had not won at bingo that morning. They must be losing their touch! Lol. We had a group of about 16 for the cabin crawl including 5 couples who hosted their cabins. We got to tour an inside, inside with walkway view, ocean view, balcony, and ocean suite cabins. Thanks to all who hosted cabins, especially Peggy & Bill, who provided everyone with champagne in honor of their anniversary. Afterwards, Patti went to do a little shopping, while I spent the rest of the afternoon in the casino playing blackjack, losing a couple of hundred. Boo!! Went back to the cabin to relax and get ready for Elegant night dinner. Soon it was time to head back to the Silver Olympian Dining Room. Join us as we stroll along the Promenade on the way….. Here’s Ryan in the Dining Room….. It was another great dinner. I started with the Italian wedding soup….. To be continued…..
Tutontow Posted September 14, 2014 #139 Share Posted September 14, 2014 I am really enjoying your review. I have great memories of the whole space coast having grown older (not up) in Tampa, Cocoa was the place to go for surfing. Anyway the Victory Ship holds fond memories for me. The first time I won over $1000.00 on a Blackjack table was on her. I am glad to see you got your money's worth on the cheers package and I am glad you enjoyed The Liberty. We will be on her in 7 days. I am looking forward to the rest of your review.
Rare Jamman54 Posted September 14, 2014 Author #140 Share Posted September 14, 2014 The shrimp cocktail was next….. Followed by a couple of these babies….. Ryan, as always, had the chicken. Patti had the shrimp cocktail, ceaser salad, and lobster, followed by butter pecan ice cream for dessert. I had two scoops of chocolate ice cream for my dessert….. Then it was time for a little entertainment with our singing and dancing waiters….. Here’s a video of the Elegant Night fun….. To be continued….. Rare Jamman54 Posted September 14, 2014 Author #141 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Ryan and Maribel….. Jeff and Maribel….. Patti and Maribel….. Don’t you just love her!! Afterwards, Patti was a bit tired so she went back to the cabin, Ryan went off to club O2, and I headed back to the casino where I proceeded to lose another couple of hundred playing blackjack. I made a stop at the EA Sports bar for a nightcap before heading back to the cabin for the night. Here’s a couple of pics of tonight’s turndown and towel animal….. Feeling a little hungry, so I ordered a couple of BLT’s from room service. Here’s the menu. What would you order? Coming up: Another relaxing sea day. KPfromCT Posted September 14, 2014 #142 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Absolutely LOVING your review!!! I am so glad that Kevin was with you guys in spirit. It was heartbreaking to hear about his passing, but I am glad you, Patti, and Ryan, continue to cruise. Looks like you guys had a wonderful time.:D
pam32310 Posted September 14, 2014 #143 Share Posted September 14, 2014 My sister and my two 16 yo grandchildren were on that cruise as well. We had a great time. My favorite places were the burrito bar, The Alchemy Bar and of course the casino. Can't wait to get back on in November! Thanks for the memories.:)

kjunea Posted September 15, 2014 #145 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Awesome review! We are sailing on the Liberty during her repositioning cruise to San Juan in March! It will be the second time on her. The last time, she didn't have her 2.0 upgrades yet. I'm loving all the pictures! June
Rare Jamman54 Posted September 15, 2014 Author #146 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Hello again! It’s another beautiful day at sea. We all elected to sleep in this morning, getting up around 9am. A peek out the window showed it to be a nice sunny day, but the seas were a little choppy, and even as high as we were being on Deck 7, we could feel the waves hitting the bow. We decided that we would head back to the Silver Olympian Dining room for the Sea Day Brunch. The brunch is open from 8:30am to 1pm on all sea days. We made sure to bring our free drink coupons. Here’s Patti and Ryan at the brunch…. That’s me at the brunch….. The yummy bread basket…… My favorite at the brunch is the huevos rancheros. These are also available at the Blue Iguana Cantina on Lido Deck, on the ships that have them….. To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted September 15, 2014 Author #147 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Afterwards, Ryan went off to meet his friends at Club O2, and Patti wanted to check out the shops, and maybe play the slots for a while. I made my way to the internet café, The Web, to open up an account and check our emails. The Web….. Internet info and package rates….. That done, I made my way up to the Red Frog Rum Bar, to begin utilizing my Cheers program for the day. I had hit my max of 15 drinks yesterday, and to tell you the truth, I was feeling real good! At noon, I headed to the casino for the first blackjack tournament of the cruise, stopping first at the casino cage to get my BOGO entries. The cards were not kind to me, and though I used both of my entries, I didn’t qualify for the final table. I played regular blackjack for a few hours, staying even, but felt like having a snack, so I made my way up to Guy’s Burger Joint. Again, the Pig Patty was calling my name….. That sure hit the spot, so it was time to head back to the cabin to relax, and take a nap before dinner. To be continued……
Rare Jamman54 Posted September 15, 2014 Author #148 Share Posted September 15, 2014 Before dinner, Ryan and I went to the Venetian Lounge to see the “Comedy Juggling of Thien Fu”. We enjoyed it, but it was too bad that the house was only half full. The show over, it was time to head to dinner. The Silver Olympian Dining Room….. Ryan is ready for dinner…. Patti started her meal off with a shrimp cocktail, and I began with a bowl of Tortilla soup….. Ryan surprised us by trying the rabbit appetizer. He didn’t care for the rabbit, but the puff pastry was good….. Ryan had his usual, the grilled chicken….. Patti chose the baked ziti, but it didn’t come out like she had pictured it. She wasn’t crazy about it, so she asked Laurean if he could bring her the salmon also. No problem!! To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted September 15, 2014 Author #149 Share Posted September 15, 2014 My salmon entrée….. I had the peach pie a la mode for my dessert, while Patti had the butter pecan ice cream. The one thing I noticed, is that the waiters don’t sing or dance every night, just on the Elegant nights, and the last night. Even after 35 Carnival cruises, I still enjoy it when they do. Ryan, Maribel, and me….. Ryan and Maribel….. Ryan was excited to go to Club O2 because they were going to have their own version of a blackjack tournament. Patti was going to hit the shops, then head back to the cabin. I went to the 10pm adult comedy show starring Chas Eisner, and he was really good. I then stayed for the Quest, which is always a laugh riot. They really enforce the no one under 18 rule for this one! If you have never seen the Quest before, think adult scavenger hunt. Can’t say any more, because what happens at Quest, stays at Quest!! Lol. Afterwards, I made my way to the casino to play blackjack for an hour or so, and again, I dropped another hundred. Man, I’m getting killed this cruise! It was now after 1am, so I made my way back to the cabin. Here’s a photo of tonight’s turndown service and towel animal….. Still wound up from Quest, I ordered a BLT and grilled cheese sandwich from room service….. Goodnight!! Coming up: Aruba, One Happy Island!!
