Why few full transit cruises in February?

We would like to do a full transit cruise for our anniversary in February, but have noticed that there are very few cruises in February. Most start in late March or April. Late January and February are our best times to travel. Any suggestions? :confused:

April into May is repositioning time for ships going to Alaska.

Who have you looked at? Many cruise lines are doing Canal cruises in January and February. Start with Holland America- they used to have the most transits, but other cruise lines are doing regular transits, and partial transits.

Edit: Oddly enough- I don't see one for HAL in Feb 2016. Princess has one Feb 3 and 18.

Right! We would have liked to book on HAL. The Princess one has 4 straight days at sea which DH and I think would drive us nuts. We like to cruise for the floating hotel experience of visiting places. Celebrity doesn't have one until the end of March. Now we are thinking of doing a land tour, but this is not our first choice. :(

Celebrate early!! That 17 night (Jan 3) on the Pacific Princess is one that I would be all over. Otherwise the HAL Maasdam, March 1, would do.

Azamara has February 2016 cruises through the canal.
