mcmarya Posted July 2, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2015 as we arrive and/or depart Manaus? Trying to decide what to book there and don't want to waste my time if I can see it from the ship. Looking at google maps it would seems that we could not avoid it but just wondered.
Floridiana Posted July 3, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2015 Book an excursion to see the meeting of the waters. The small boats go across several times and cruise along for picture taking and explanations. Our cruise ship crossed it too fast very early in the morning. No way to see it properly. I don't even remember seeing it from the ship and I was up and looking. Couldn't see it very well when departing either and I looked at the proper spot. Our excursion included the visit of a floating village in the Rio Negro.
Shorex Posted July 3, 2015 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2015 Our meeting of the waters excursion included fishing for piranha. It was one of the best South America excursions we've taken. Caught one! And piranha showed up on the lunch buffet. (Not good for eating, though.) Yes, do an excursion.
