Our son is a huge Seahawks fan and on our trip to Alaska via Seattle we thought it a good idea to go to the stadium take some selfies for him šŸ˜ and purchase some gifts from the stadium shop.

Ā

We will be having breakfast at Pike Place then on to Centurylink Field followed by a trip to Bainbridge Island.

We will be visiting on a Thursday & hope to get to the shop for the 10am opening.

Ā

If anyone could offer the best transport options from Pike Place to the stadium then back for the ferry to BI I would appreciate it.

Ā

Thanks

FG:)

Itā€™s not a bad walk at about 30 minutes. You can also take the light rail that is up 3 blocks from Pike Place Market at 4th and Pine south to Stadium Station. Cabs are reasonable in Seattle and would be about $6 for the one way.

Ā

On the return the closest light rail station to the ferry terminal would be the University St Station at 3rd Ave & James. The ferry is about a 10 minute walk from there.

Light Rail is a good option to get to the stadium. Pick it up at the Westlake Center station.

Ā

In the following link, under Schedule Guide, you can click on the name of a Light Rail Station to find a map of the surrounding area:

Ā

For the return trip a taxi might be the best bet because it's definitely hilly to get to the Market from pier 52. OTOH, if you have good weather you might enjoy walking along the waterfront to one of the Market access points (hillclimb stairs or elevator). See Market map :

Are you going to Bainbridge for a particular reason? or just for the experience and city view? The water taxi to West Seattle (Alki Beach) is another great option..... especially if you catch a later taxi back to see the evening skyline view.

Hi both, many thanks for your detailed responses and links, very much appreciated:)

Ā

Mapleleaves, it was the experience, nothing planned but will definitely look at the option of Alki Beach, thanks for the info.

The ferry is a great Seattle experience. If you have great weather keep Alki Beach in mind as another option.

Also, since you're going to Alaska you might want to stop by the Klondike Goldrush museum in Pioneer Park. It's free. It will give you some background on the goldrush stampede and a better understanding of Skagway, which also has a branch of this museum.

A bus or light rail for three persons will cost around $7.50 - $8.00, plus the hike to the bus stop or light rail station. A taxi, door to door, will be around $10.

Ā

From Centurylink field the walk (level) to the ferry terminal will probably take 15 minutes.

Agreed--I's say, just walk to the ferry terminal, unless the weather is bad.

Ā

Before they started all the construction along Alaska Way, I would've suggested heading over there and walking up the waterfront. Now, though, it might not be such a scenic walk (unless you like dusty, fenced-off construction sites!) I'd suggest walking up First Avenue to Marion Street, where there's a footbridge that goes out to to the ferry terminal. It's a little less flat than Alaska Way, but not a serious climb at that point.

Just so there is no confusion, the station located at 3rd & James is called Pioneer Square Station. The University Street Station is located about 7 blocks further north (at University Street).

Ā

Yes, thank you. Looks like they are about the same distance from the ferry terminal although agree walking from Century Link might be best, and possibly shorter when you consider the wait for the train.
