Whale Watching?

Has anyone been on the Whale and Dolphin watching tour and have they seen any? We are going in January and the season to see them is between Jan-March.

We've done this trip twice. Loved it! Saw sperm whales on both occasions. Both times were in early February.

Our group has done this tour through Celebrity in March 2015. We saw a ton of whales and also dolphins. The tour guides were quick to tell us that it was a bit unusual as we had probably at least 5 sightings. However, I have also done this tour, same time of year, and had only 1 very brief sighting. I would stay away from the "rib boat". It sits very low in the water. This would give you a great experience if you see whales. It doesn't have any protection from the sun, and the seats look pretty uncomfortable. Hope that helps!

I did this last December and saw various whales. Was a nice excursion.

Was this done through the ship or private? If private could I have the name of the company?

We are doing this in November - any think we will see anything?

We are doing a whale watching tour with "Dive Dominica". They are listed on Trip advisor. We have wanted to go to Dominica for years because that is where the whales and dolphins are seen year round. There are several companies that do these tours and they are less expensive if you book on your own than on the ship. Look at the following websites for more information:

Some of the tours that I investigated were in a smaller boat with shade too. The one we are going on has shade and they supply water and rum punch. The length of the tour is 3.5 hours. They have great reviews on Trip advisor too.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a tour operator? I looked on trip advisior and they only listed 2. One of which is shut down and the other only has a tour that leaves at 2pm and comes back at sunset. Unfortunately with our 10-6 day it port, that wont work!

Has anyone used anchorage?

I have booked with Anchorage Hotel and they have told me they will drop us off at the terminal pier at 5:23 to catch the 5:30 back on board time. We are cruising Jan. 14 on the Dream

Anchorage Hotel has agreed to drop us off at 5:23 to get back to shop on time

Hi -

We are going to be there on a Friday and am having trouble locating any companies that go out that day -

Anchorage's website indicates Wednesdays and Saturdays or Sundays by appt.

Any suggestions would be great.

Just got off Royal Princess and did this excursion. Truly fantastic! Saw 10 or so sperm whales and 300+ dolphins. Highly recommend!!!

Island Style Fishing....Jerry is the Captain...he stayed out on the water well past the 3hour tour time to make SURE we saw whales and we did. We returned to our cruise ship and everyone who took the ship tour said they saw nothing but sun and water. We are going with him again in a couple weeks.

Yes RCL does offers 2 excursions. One by "rib boat" which I have read it's lower to the water so harder to see whales. $109.75 (2 1/2 hrs) and another boat $79.75 (3 1/2 hrs) which has 2 good reviews.

I just talked to Jerry to confirm our own trip in a few days. His boat was, unfortunately, destroyed in the recent hurricane. His new boat has not been delivered yet.
