Carnival Fish n Chips

Anyone have any info on Carnival's Fish n Chips? What kind of fish? I'm from Alaska and have wild sockeye salmon and halibut in the freezer at all times, so I'm a bit of snob. I'll eat Cod, but not Pollock.

Don't waste your time. It is extremely greasy and gross. Took one bite, the rest went in the trash.

wouldn't waste your time either, its 80% coating mix. did go for the fried oysters and the cherviche

And you make fish and chips with those? Never tried those fish fried at all, actually.

Hm, the menu doesn't list what kind of fish it is, and I've never asked. It's some sort of whitefish; it tastes like cod to me.

Halibut is probably the best(and most expensive) fish to make fish and chips with. Salmon on the other hand is something that is quite bad when fried, to oily to start. The oil though makes it fantastic for grilling or broiling.

On Carnival it may be cod, but more than likely pollock or some sort of ling.

Probably haddock or some sort of cheap whitefish.....who knows. It could very well be Pollock...

I love halibut as a battered fish and will eat cod and haddock as well. No idea what the fish is on Carnival that they use for fish n chips but I only had one bite and the remainder went in the garbage.

It is greasy COD. It was ok on the first day of a Freedom cruise but got worse as the cruise went.

The best thing in to dine up stairs in a less crowded area. We would visit the buffet and eat at the fish and chips area.

Lots of malt vinegar kills the bad taste!
