Auckland pier to the Airport

Recommended Posts

What is the best way to get from the Auckland port to the Airport thanks.

There might be varied opinions as to what "best" could or might mean . . . versus . . . lowest cost option' date=' quickest way to get there, easiest, more interesting potential, etc. Lots of factors involved and to consider.

Clearly a [b']cab could be an option[/b]. While we were staying there in Auckland for a couple days after our cruise, others in our group (plus us) were a part of "private tour" that gave us an overview to see and sample this scenic city. Then, they took other out to the airport who need to catch flights later that afternoon. Much depends on your budget and how much time you might have until your flight departs.

Auckland is definitely worth any time you can spend there!! Nice, interesting city!! Do you need a name for a private tour/transport options? Below are a couple of my Auckland visuals to help building your excitement for this city. Much more in details and pictures can be seen on my full live/blog that connects below.

Other questions??

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Enjoyed a 14-day, Jan. 20-Feb. 3, 2014, Sydney to Auckland adventure, getting a big sampling for the wonders of "down under” before and after this cruise. Go to:

From having our final breakfast on the back of the Solstice at the Oceanview Cafe, here is the view of Auckland's historic Ferry Building, plus some other key downtown buildings. This docking area is super handy for having quick and easy access to the city. But, this port area can be very, very congested, especially with lots of luggage after such a long, 14-day cruise.:

here is a view of the Auckland downtown with its many high-rise buildings, the SkyTower, etc. These locations make for nice pictures of those in our group. From doing our mini-tour after getting off of the ship, we enjoyed eastern beaches and great vista points.:

Please be advised that the Downtown Auckland ares is in chaos at the moment and will be for the couple of cruise seasons as buildings are demolished and a new rail underground rail link is installed.Just allow a bit more time.:)

Appreciate the great added info/background from Kiwi Kruzer. From:

https://www.aucklandairport.co.nz/transport/taxis-and-shuttles

they have this added cab info: "from the airport into the city is between NZ$75 – NZ$90 one-way for a taxi and shuttles($33 for one person plus $8 for each extra person together in the same group)".

Have to agree with Kiwi Kruzer. The old Downtown shopping centre is just about finished the demo stage. We were over there from the North Shore yesterday. Have seen a lot worse "chaos" else where near cruise dock,s around the world. Do not let it put you off going walk-about , a couple of minutes walk and all is good.

Taxis are expensive. The industry is deregulated and many of the options are low quality. Corporate Cabs is one of the reliable firms.

There is an airport bus service that departs from very close to where the ships berth.

Uber operates in Auckland.
