Costa Rican Coffee

You can find Costa Rican coffee fairly readily available in the US in specialty coffee stores or local roasters in your area. Also on line from various roasters.

In the US you'll primarily find Tarrazu beans. These make a wonder coffee. But them light or medium roasted to get the citrus flavor. There are other varieties in the country as well.

As far as buying, if you do go to a local Mercado you'll find the better, lower prices. Tourist and cruiser oriented shops will mark these up and tell you you're getting a bargain. This is true for any coffee growing region in the Caribbean or Central America.

Have never had it, so is it worth buying? If it is good, is it better to buy in a grocery store or at a souvenir area?

Thanks!

Watch the freshness/expiration dates in the market areas. Just checked 2 vendors in Puntarenas and both had "expired" products.
