Robinola Posted December 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2016 Has anyone done the math lately? I keep bouncing around trying to get the best ship for solo at the best price. What do you think? This would be for the latter part of 2017 or even early 2018. thank you!
Getaway Girl 73 Posted December 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted December 10, 2016 Independence of the Seas leaving FLL on Jan 8, 2018 to labadee and Falmouth. To sail solo was only 840 before tax, port fees and tips when I booked a couple months ago. Sent from my SM-G935T using Forums mobile app
Rare Scrapnana Posted December 10, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 10, 2016 Where do you want to go? Could you wait until after final payment when there could be a price drop?

If you are happy with a price you are seeing now for a cruise 15 or 18 months away then book it. Do you know what cruise you want to do? If the price you see is good for you now, I would say book it. After all, you only have to put down a deposit. You can keep your eye on the prices over time. Edited December 11, 2016 by Lois R

Must it leave from the US, or are you willing to fly to your embarkation port? Do you mean "best price" as in lowest per day price, or as in best value? Robinola- i just booked a 9 night on Grandeur of the Seas for 2-22-18 as a solo in an inside cabin for a total of $550.99 including taxes and fees and a casino discount of $500 and a BOGO60 % off of -384. So without the casino discount of $500 it would still be 1050.99 including taxes and fees for an inside cabin for 9 nights. Not bad

Check out the Freedom of the Seas 12/9/17 ~ 8 night cruise sailing out of FLL I just went through a fake booking on this and the total came out to $1,435 for an inside cabin for me cruising solo. I never have any luck finding a deal with RC cruising solo.
filmfestgirl Posted February 26, 2017 #9 Share Posted February 26, 2017 Find a cruise travel agent you like and get on their list of deal emails - my TA emails me when celebrity is 150% or no SS deals I found that repositioning cruises are best deals if you have time and like sea days Some river cruises waived SS and Azamara does on a few sailings Sent from my iPhone using Forums

This would be for the latter part of 2017 or even early 2018. thank you! I took a solo river cruise with Ama Waterways on the Irrawaddi River in Myanmar in mid-September, 2016. This was the first cruise that fall. From what I heard, they often use the first cruise of the season as a training event for new crew members. There were only 9 passengers with a crew of 32. Seven of the nine passengers were traveling solo. Much of the single supplement was waived. Check with a travel broker like Affordable Tours or Vacations to Go for suggestions. If you go to Myanmar be careful about paying for an electronic visa. Myanmar issues these type visas, but there are numerous fake websites purporting to issue them. These websites are very official looking to trap unsuspecting tourists. I paid for what turned out to be a fraudulent evisa, and I was stuck in Kunming, China until I could get a new, valid visa. I nearly missed the cruise, and it cost me over $1200 in missed hotels and flights.
