Earliest off New Orleans

I was just wondering what the average time off the ship is in New Orleans. We'll be sailing on the Dream in May and would like to catch a bus around 9ish. I know we need to do self assist.

So about what time was it once you got off the ship and through customs?

Can't speak specifically for Carnival, but on all our NCL cruises from New Orleans, they've been calling the first walk offs no later than 8am. Unless you have a lot to declare, or look very suspicious,:p I doubt you'll spend more than a minute or two going through customs.

9 am might be fine or it might not, it is really hard to tell. Debarkation will depend on when the ship is cleared by customs. Sometimes that can be very early, others, later. When we sailed last year, debarkation was delayed significantly due to slowness in clearing the ship and the need to have a medical debarkation done before "regular" passengers were allowed off.

Thanks for the on-site. I think if everything​ is "normal" we'll be ok. If there are any problems there is another bus at 4. So we'll just have to find something​ to do. Hmmm that might be hard. Lol
