Bonaire Cruisers

Another option to consider for seeing Bonaire is Bonaire Cruisers. You rent a golf cart for the day. We did the south side of the island and were done by noon and had time to go see more. The best part is they would let you know where to see the best things including the Flamingos. We planned to head north, but were told Flamingos had moved to the south part of the island to mate.

We had family do a tour through the ship to see Flamingos, they went north and saw 10 if they were lucky. Following the advise given to us by Bonaire Cruisers we saw over 300.

We were on the road with our cart by 9. Saw the Donkey Sanctuary, the Sea Salt "mining", the slave huts(both white and red), the light house, Lac Bay and oh so many Flamingos. We finished up about 12:30 and went sailing on Woodwind, best snorkel ever. This was by far our best port stop ever.

It was a fun way to see the island.

We have already reserved our carts when the Sunshine stops there in May. Really looking forward to it. We are hoping to have enough time to do both the north and south loops.

$90 for the day, and that covers gas and insurance. They don't charge per person, so I think $90 to explore the island at our pace and stop whenever and wherever we want is a very good deal. :D

Thanks for pointing out this option. Do you mind if ask how long did you use the cart (and how much ground did you cover)?

We are thinking of getting one in addition to doing a snorkel trip and trying to get a sense of how to divide up the day (or if it doesn't make sense to divide it).

Thanks for posting. We were just going to walk around but now we just booked a 4 seater. Company said they can accommodate our party of 5 since its two adults and 3 young children since the 4 year old can sit up from with us. So excited to do this.

Was it easy to get around? Do you drive in the street?

Very simple to Navigate, they provide you with a map, and some directions to get you started, then keep the water on your right (if you do the south part of the island first (which I recommend).

An yes you are on the main road/share with vehicles. The golf cart is equipped with turn lights/horn etc... and all driver that we came across were very respectful and we never had ANY issues....just be courteous and move to the extreme right of the road if you see a vehicle approaching in the rear view mirror!

You SHOULD be excited...it was AWESOME....I HIGHLY recommend Sorobon Beach Resort to the south:

https://www.sorobonbeachresort.com/ and of course to the North the Cadushy distillery http://www.cadushy.com/ in Rincon!

Enjoy!

We just came back from Equinox where we did this and had a great time. Did the southern end of the island, came back to town, and did a short trip up north. Next time we'll do it again and head north first to make sure we do the whole loop.

I had one minor complaint that is no one's fault, just bad luck. We did not see any flamingos in person, but when we came back, we zoomed in on a few of our pictures and lo and behold, there were some pink blobs. Next time we'll take binoculars.

We were there on May 10 and did a similar trip to yours. Spent most of the day on the south loop, with a couple hours at Jibe City for lunch and some beach time. We were able to squeeze in the first part of the north loop up to 1000 steps. We saw over 100 flamingos on the south loop, but they were quite a ways away from the road.

All in all, we had a great day, and would do it again in a heartbeat.
