Viator vs Shore Trips & Tours for New Zealand

For those who have traveled to New Zealand, which tour company did you like better - Viator or Shore Trips & Tours and why? TIA

I thought Viator was just a reseller of tours. I don't think it's a" real" tour company.

This is correct although it's sometimes hard to find the "real" tour operator until after you've booked with Viator. If you're looking at a specific tour, maybe TripAdvisor can help you find the real operator.

Having said that, I've used Viator a couple of times and been pleased.

Viator has never let us down. If you can't find the right tour outside of Viator, it is good. The only disadvantage is if the ship cancels your port, you won't get a refund.

I've used Shore Trips & Tours and they are a mix of a reseller and doing their own tour. I thought they were very good for the 4 different tours we have done.

We were on a HAL cruise of NZ last year and the vessel cancelled its visits to Auckland and Bay of Isles. We had no trouble getting refunds from Viator for the tours we had booked through them in those places. Always find them excellent to book through.
