DRF worth it if not climbing?

I'm trying to find an activity for my mom (mid 80s) and me (mid 60s). We are not beach people or bus trips around the island people. We are somewhat adventurous; i.e. last year we ziplined in Labadee, in recent years, we have done cave tubing in Belize and stingray swimming in the Cayman Islands. I am considering the river tubing with DRF (the gentle rapids), but I know we aren't going to climb DRF. We both have depth perception issues and are klutzes (sad, but true-lol!!). Is DRF worth it if we are just planning to watch from the stairs up? Do you have any other semi-adventurous ideas? Thanks for your help!

I too would love to know this. I also am traveling with my mother and I imagine the tubbing part would be ok but the climbing portion to the falls might be a tad tricky to navigate.

Also any information on the difference between the tube/DRF and the tube "CRUISE" drf would be appreciated. thank you :)

Dunns river falls is definitely a fun activity to do.

Wear good water shoes or sturdy foot gear.....no flip flops.

I was in my early 50's when we did it.

It is like a great team effort.

People helping people to attain a fun goal.

Yea there were some slippery spots and deep holes under water.

The climb was a nice pace.

But the guides were great.

Yea I would carefully do this if your hips and knees are in good condition.

Enjoy, we did.

Safe travels.

It's possible some people don't know what DRF is. And if you explain it then others will learn about it also.

Might help you get response if you could edit the title.

I don't know how to edit the title, but DRF is Dunn's River Falls. Thanks for pointing this out.

We just got back from our September 10th cruise to Ocho Rio, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel on the Dream. You have 2 choices at Dunn River Falls. You can do the wet climb or you can do the dry climb. The dry climb there are walkways and steps that follow the falls all the way down to the ocean to the beach. You get to see the falls and take pictures. My wife has foot problems and i have leg problems, the dry climb was perfect for us.
