Default Dominica suspension bridge

Has anyone walked the suspension bridge in Dominica, if so would like to hear what it was like.
It is combined with the Aerial tram tour -princess tours.

From my Explorer holiday cruise. If you are nervous about heights think twice as the trams are open cages and the suspension bridge......

Starting Out

Tram ahead of us

Looking down at a waterfall from 150 feet up

Empties passing going up and down (taken from the bridge)

The suspension bridge (taken from the tram)

The suspension bridge from land.

Walking down the hill from the bridge to the waystation

Waystation to catch the return tram

You don't have to get off the tram at the bridge, stay on to the waystation, get off, and wait for your party to hike down to the waystation, get on another tram to go down the hill. This was a terrific excursion.

Default Aerial Tram

I just wanted to add that we did this excursion earlier this year and loved it. I really don't like heights at all and the tram ride itself didn't bother me. They are open so that made me nervous at first but for the most part you are riding through the tree tops and I was fine. One part goes over the gorge and I just didn't look down and was OK.

As mentioned before you do not need to get off at the top to walk the suspension bridge. You can stay on the car and come back down to the mid station and wait for your group. I chose to get off and do the bridge anyway. I waited for everyone else to get across the bridge and just went for it. As long as I didn't look down or stop, I was OK. I let the others in my party take pictures.

Use your best judgement and I would probably at least avoid the bridge if your fear of heights is severe.

Thumbs up tram tour

I appreciate all of you taking time to answer and share photos. Good to know the suspension bridge is not like the one in the Pirates of the Caribbean. We are having a hard time between this and Titou Gorge and hot springs. For weather, it appears this one would be best.

- as well as a DOMINICA PHOTOS thread over there on the Dominica forum
where these great pics would've been a welcome addition.

This thread should be moved by Admin. and put into the DOMINICA forum.
