Default Hard Rock Cafe in Hawaii

Anyone know how far HRC is from the cruise ports in Honolulu and Maui?

In Honolulu your right in the heart of everything to get there, its located on
1837 Kapiolani Blvd.which is one of the main drags.

When in Maui you have to make your way to the town of Lahaina as I'm not sure which port your pulling into . Not sure what ship your on but POA offers transportation there and back or I think there will be transport at he prier.
Whatever Lahaina is a great little town with most of the restaurants located along the ocean including HRC on Front st.
You can also rent car for the day, Its quite an easy laid back drive with lots of kodak moments along the way.

There is a HRC in Kona, if your ship stops there...about a 15min walk from the tender dock.

Hi maplo, We will be on the Golden right before you!!!
My brother is in Honolulu right now & he said they closed the HRC on 1837 Kapiolani Blvd (this location will be relocated, due to a train will be going through this location). The new one will be located in the heart of Honolulu. They started the new one & will not be finished when we go . I really wanted a T-shirt. In Maui it is on 900 Front Street it is in walking distance of the pier (I was told we dock near front street).

Sorry, but the Hard Rock Cafe in Kona closed about a year ago. A sign of the economic times I guess.

I will be celebrating my 50th B-day on the ship, the day before we dock in Hilo. I will have to try not to get to drunk, HAHA!!! I am so excited to go to Hawaii and to enjoy all those sea days. I booked sooooooooooooo long ago and I can't believe it is just 2 1/2 months away. This is our first trip to Hawaii also and first Princess cruise. We always used Carnival. Hope you enjoy your cruise!!!

I didn't know this about the Kona and Honolulu HRC's being closed as I planned to visit them on our cruise in September. Guess I'll have to be satisfied with getting only one HRC shirt in Maui. We'll be in Honolulu on 9/27 and 9/28. Does anyone know if the HRC will be open by then?

Default Honolulu Is NOT Closed!

The idea of HRC closing before moving didn't make sense to me-especially because of liquor licensing procedures here in Hawaii. Plus, the light rail project is in its initial planning stage, nowhere near being started, much less operative.

So, I double-checked and then called HRC Honolulu just now. I spoke to Patty, who assured me they are open and planning on remaining so until the move to the Beachwalk in Waikiki. The move is now probably not going to happen until early 2010.

So, T-shirts, burgers, brews, etc are all still at 1837 Kapiolani Blvd! Enjoy!!

Yes, Kona closed last winter. Perhaps the misinformation about HNL. started due to confusion over what the term "Big Island" refers to. I've found sometimes guests think the name refers to Oahu, not the island of Hawaii.

Patty assured me that they would close the old location one day and be open the next day in the new one, hopefully in early 2010. That made much more sense to me, business-wise and expense-wise. Inventory expenses here are very high, and if you suspend or give up your liquor license, the vendors don't have to take your stock back...and if they do, they can charge a hefty "restocking fee." Plus you pay a bulk sales liquor tax, licensing fees, etc, etc. That was why the idea of Honolulu closing didn't make sense to me when I read the posts.

Actually, you don't dock in Lahaina; it's always a tender port. You will tender in to the small Lahaina harbor. To get to the Hard Rock Cafe, walk mauka (toward the mountains) from the tender pier past the courthouse and banyon tree courtyard or the Pioneer Inn, depending on exactly the path you take. In any case, the main street that parallels the ocean is Front St. When you get there (about a 1 to 2 minute walk from the pier), turn left and walk up to the Hard Rock Cafe. It's on the mauka side of Front St. at the corner of Front and Papalaua. On the way, you'll walk along the sea wall and have gorgeous views of the ocean, your ship, and Lanai. It's maybe 10 minutes of walking or 20 minutes of sauntering. I recommend the saunter; it's fun to wander Front St.
