Default Air France Flight

Hello,
We are taking Air France from JFK to Paris. We are then transferring to another Air France flight to Copenhagen. Do we have to clear customs in Paris? Do we have to claim our luggage in Paris and then recheck it to Copenhagen or is it transferred for us?
Thanks,
Larry

You will have immigration in Paris to enter Schengen zone (France and Denmark are both part of it).

And for your carry-ons you will have customs clearance and security. So no duty free purchase in the Duty Free Shops in New York with liquids!!!

And you will have in most cases a Terminal Change with some walks.

But purchases of liquids on Air France aircraft would be o.k..

You do not claim your checked baggage in Paris and it will be automatically transfered to Copenhagen and there you will have customs clearance for your checked baggage.

But it would be not no extensive like you would enter the US.

I wouldn't worry at all about this bit. Even if it's correct, it would be purely technical. For all practical purposes, you clear customs once - in Copenhagen, after you've collected your bags. But as HeinBloed says, this is usually pretty much a mere formality too.
