Default Drove to Vancouver - our parking/hotel experience

We drove from WY to Vancouver and stayed at the Best Western Downtown - including all the weird charges, we paid $179 Canadian (Costco rate 152.99). Parking for 1 night was an additional $ 11.20. (Drive into the side alley and a bellhop will help you unload your car.) I specifically chose the Best Western for their laundry ($1.50 Canadian for washer, same for dryer). The parking was underground and very secure - you needed your room key to access the elevator, parking deck. Our experience at the BW was excellent - this hotel seems to be ready for the Olympics with their up-to-date rooms and their well-trained, helpful staff.
We could have parked our car at their daily rate ($ 11.20) for our entire cruise. Best Western would have provided a shuttle TO Canada Place, but we would have needed a taxi to get back to our car at the end of the cruise. But because I had already paid for a week's parking at Cruisepark, we parked there. Cruisepark was very organized and handled our luggage from our car to the ship - it magically appeared in our room on ship.

Upon our return to Canada Place, we picked up our luggage in the terminal, cleared customs, and then followed the signs for "Shuttles."
Cruisepark was clearly marked and had a van there quickly. Cruisepark is used to handling a lot of luggage - no worries. Plenty of strong arms helped with loading our luggage into our car. We paid Cruisepark $ 134.40 + tips for 7 nights. The atmosphere at Cruisepark was upbeat & friendly. As we passed the Princess docked with the fin whale ensnared on its bow, he pointed it out.

Welcome Home

Thanks for the information on the hotel and where to park in Vancouver.

Default Oh no!

The whale is still stuck on the bow? That's awful. You'd think they would have done something out to sea.

Two tugboats pulled it off at Vancouver. Why try to do something at sea?
