Default Balconies - Crown Princess

We don't like balconies with a lot of sun. Which decks are more exposed on the ship?

Also, I am interested in catagory AD which is a guarantee cabin on Emerald deck. If they bump you UP to a higher catagory on Dolphin deck and that is an open deck can you insist on staying on Emerald deck?

Thanks

All balconies are fully covered by ceiling overhang except for those located on Dolphin deck (fully exposed mini-suite balconies) and Caribe deck (partly exposed regular balcony cabin balconies). Caribe deck balconies are sized 9 ft wide x 9 ft deep and have ceiling cover over the first 5 ft of depth.

If you have a category AD guarantee that means you are guaranteed a mini-suite AD OR higher. The AD mini-suites are the only ones that have fully covered balconies. There are only 12 mini-suites on Emerald which means they tend to sell out fast. It is highly likely that a category AD guarantee will end up with cabin assignment of AC or higher which means the cabin will be on Dolphin deck. With a guarantee, you do not generally have the choice of turning down an upgrade.

There are many mini-suites on Dolphin and only 12 on Emerald so if they sell more than 12 AD guarantees, they will be upgrading to Dolphin deck.

My advice - either pick an assigned AD mini-suite on Emerald and mark reservation as 'Do Not Upgrade' or be prepared for likely assignment to a mini-suite on Dolphin deck with exposed balcony. Your other option is to downgrade to a regular balcony cabin and choose one on any deck other than Caribe if you do not want any exposed balcony.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the great info. At this time, the only AD cabins are guarentees.
